life changing

I am a 54 year old woman diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at the age of 20. I scheduled reconstructive surgery on my left hand with Dr. Aldridge because I was rapidly losing mobility and function due to profound, long-term damage and deformity. I am now 6 months post-surgery. I wish I could post a before and after picture here to dramatically support my review but trust me when I say the results are nothing short of miraculous. I have a new hand. And I have regained full mobility and function. I am a full-time working artist, I play guitar, and mother of three...I have resumed my everyday life. I am forever grateful to Dr. Aldridge and plan to do my right hand in the coming year. He is not only a brilliant surgeon, but also considerate, on time, a good listener, and has good bedside manner. Hand surgeon...he's your guy. -lori vrba

One-year follow-up

While my carpal tunnel surgery was effective at releasing the nerve, there was no effort to follow-up on recovery or refer to rehabilitation therapy to regain hand strength. Over a year after the (traditional open incision) surgery, I have regained little muscle or hand strength, despite trying on my own to exercise these muscles. I suggest that it is easy to 'cut' someone, but surgeons should consider follow-up to ensure rehabilitation and a good outcome. I am wondering if this is an adverse outcome that should be weighed against open incision vs. endoscopic surgery. I have received a referral for rehabilitation from my general practitioner, and will pursue that course of action in hopes of regaining better function.

Five Stars

I was scared and even though friends told me the experience good I was still apprehensive. Dr. Aldridge was kind and I went through the surgery effortless and absolutely no pain. He had given a prescription for pain if needed and I never needed it. He is very professional and kind. I highly recommend him.
