Dr. Julie Alessi Mermilliod, MD

Very professional and courteous. She was on time and provided enough time for me to ask questions. She was informative and answered all my questions.

My experience with this doctor was a complete nightmare from the moment she walked into the room. When she walked in, I immediately felt a coldness in the room from the way she abruptly introduced herself and spoke to me as if she started a stopwatch. She is very condescending and speaks to you like a child. I made this appointment a few months in advance. I had a sunspot that started scabbing this year but by the time I had gone for my appointment, it was not scabbing that day. She was very rude and dismissive, speaking to me as if I was overreacting over a sunspot. I asked her if a sunspot were to scab, was that something to be concerned over. She said she wouldn’t know because I did not have that issue, therefore she couldn’t do a biopsy. She told me to make another appointment if it scabbed again and I asked her what if I have the same issue where I had to wait and by the time I saw her again, the scab wouldn’t be there. Again, in her rude tone, she said she couldn’t do anything… for me. I told her how uncomfortable she made me feel and she replied “Not all personalities click”. Wait, are you seriously a doctor? Was I in the twilight zone? Who says that to their patient? I spoke with the nurse after the visit and she was not surprised, nor was the receptionist when I asked for someone I can speak to. I got on the phone with a manager and soon found out that she was the chair of dermatology. Very shocking to see that a person like her is paid to ruin people’s day and waste their time and money. Please do yourself a favor and find a dermatologist that wants to help find a solution to your problem instead of making you feel rushed and mistreated.

she is rude and she does all the talking and never listens to you ..... My husband and I were disgusted with her . We went see her 2 times and each time she was rude and controlling . I would never send anyone I know to her . NEVER! no bed side manner at all ........

I have a history of basal/squamous skin cancers. I had 8 removed when I saw Dr. Mermilliod. I was particularly concerned about a spot under my eye. It had been there several years and was changing. Given my history, I think it would have been appropriate to obtain a tissue sample and send to a pathologist. She did not, and I felt she was very dismissive. It was as if the appointment was a bother, and I was being silly for worrying. Another MD took a sample about a year later and it was skin cancer. My poor rating of Dr. Mermilliod is mostly due to her attitude and demeanor, not her clinical skills. While I do think a biopsy would be appropriate given the history of skin cancer, I know other dermatologists also might have proceeded as Dr. Mermilliod did without a biopsy. She was unbelievably rude and truly made me feel stupid for even getting the spot checked. I wish that I could post pictures. They can be viewed on one of my other reviews of this doctor.

Dr. Mermilliod and her staff are AMAZING!

Dr. Mermilliod was so warm and thorough. She (and her resident) checked me over from head to toe and diagnosed a growth as basal cell carcinoma. I am being referred to a new skin cancer specialist, but I would recommend her to anyone.

For years I suffered from an acute rash on my face. It was so bad that I was to embarassed to be seen in public. The doctor imediately diagnosed it (she said it was the worse case she ever seen) and with her treatment the problem completely went away. I'm now living a normal social life without embarassment.

Our 11 yr old daughter is having problems with her skin and her allergists suggested a visit with Dr. Mermilloid. We could not have been more pleased. We loved her!! She took time to explain the situation to our whole family and had the utmost compassion for our daughter. She gave her diagnosis and suggestion of treatment. After 1 treatment, we saw a huge difference in our daughter's skin. We would definitely recommend Dr. Mermilliod to anyone! She is awesome!!
