Dr. Shillingford and his staff are truly amazing. Michelle, Nancy, and Elba in the office are wonderful and will answer any question you may have and if they do not know, they will find out so you do know. Dr. Shillingford does amazing work! He is straight forward and does not sugar coat which in my book equals accountability- What we all NEED going into this! I could not have picked a better team! My One Piece of advice: Do your research, follow Dr. Shillingford's advice and plan, and Understand this is a tool and you will come out just fine! "Happy Losing"

Went to his office for initial weight loss surgery consultation. Answered all my questions, making me comfortable enough to have his office staff check with my insurance for coverage. I received a 1 page document with the requirements from the insurance company, before they would approve my gastric sleeve surgery. Completed requirements and 6 months later had my surgery. Post op 18 months and I've lost a total of 105 lbs. with 10 lbs. to go to my personal goal. Great follow-up by Dr. Shillingford. Awesome guidance along the way. Great overall experience. I only wish I'd done it sooner. Best results, even better than I imagined. Thank you Dr. Shillingford and staff, you are truly lifesavers!

September 12, 2017 is a day that I will never forget. Its the day that I decided to take control of my life. I was taking two blood pressure medications, one in the morning, and one at night. I went to my primary care physician and he told me that my blood sugar levels were elevated and that I would have to start taking diabetic pills. That's when I said enough is enough. I had to take control of my life. I came to visit Dr. Shillingford in June 2017. I found out about this great Doctor through a coworker, and let's just say the rest is history. Dr. Shillingford performed the vertical sleeve gastrectomy procedure on me September 12, 2017 and my life hasn't been the same since! My surgery weight was 299lb. My current weight is 223lb. Im no longer in any blood pressure medications. My lab work came back great! Im on NO MEDICATIONS AT ALL ANYMORE besides my B12 shot and Urosodol! I owe everything to Dr. Shillingford and his professional staff. Dr. Shillingford is patient, kind, and has a great bedside mannerism. I recommend him to everyone. Thank you Doc for saving my life!

I found dr. Shillingford through an online search after I had seen other doctors. I's so glad I found him!!! His office staff (Nancy and Elba) are very thorough, helpful and always get back to you as soon as they can. They answered all my questions and scheduling was a breeze! Dr. Shillingford is the nicest doctor I've ever met. He's been very patient and helpful. I had my surgery less than a month ago and already lost more than 30lbs! I wish I had done this sooner.

I found Dr. Shillingford online through a Google search. To my surprise a close friend had just gone to him for Gastric Sleeve surgery 8 months ago. After hearing all of her postive feedback and recommendation, I went in for a consult. Dr and staff are friendly and make you feel comfortable. Dr took his time answered all of my questions and was very nice. Nancy, Luisa and Barbara are helping me get paperwork together for insurance and have been amazingly helpful. I can't wait to get my procedure done!

This office has a very knowledgeable and friendly staff. The office is nice, clean, warm and inviting. Dr Shillingford gave me all of the proper info needed to keep my expectations realistic. The info also helped me make informed decisions regarding my procedure and care. I am grateful to have found Dr. Shillingford and his team, they saved my life! Since I was in elementary school I struggled with my weight. I tried tons of diets, went up, down, and back up plus more time after time. At age 38 I had a realization. I had given everything I had to my children and my husband. I had done the best so far that I could do for everyone else. It was time for me to do something really important for me. It was for them too as I had a bmi of 41, my health, and my ability to participate in activities was declining. My self esteem was terribly low as well. I was very sad inside. Then I went to see Dr. Shillingford. He was so very kind. He was very knowledgeable, he explained the procedures, took his time with me, and answered any questions I had. There was no pressure and his office staff also took their time with me over the phone, in the office, and were very nice. I opted to have Gastric Sleeve surgery. My surgery went very smoothly. I felt well enough to leave the hospital after just one day but Dr. Shillingford being the great Dr. he is, urged me to stay the full duration so I could be monitored to which I agreed. Since then, I have gone back to Dr. Shillingford routinely for monthly, bi-monthly, and now tri-monthly appointments so he could monitor my progress. It has now been 4 1/2 months. I have lost 77 lbs so far and my BMI is down to 29! I am still losing and I am feeling so much better about taking pictures, showing myself in public, and talking to other people. There is no going up and down on the scale anymore! I just can't eat the food I used to anymore and I don't want to. I am completely satisfied with my smaller portions and my smaller body. Marrying my husband and having my children were the best decisions of my life. Going to Dr. Shillingford and having the surgery came next in line. I am done with being overweight, I am healthy now, and I am happy!

Dr Shillingford is the answer to my prayers. He is great! surgery went smoothly and recovery was fast. I am very pleased with his service. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Shillingford is a wonderful surgeon and so great at letting the patient feel comfortable with treatment options. Had my verticle sleeve with a dear friend and together we set this journey. Dr. Shillingford didn't think we were a little strange when we wanted to have our consultations together, pre-op stretchers next to each other, and private rooms on the same floor so we could motivate each other to walk afterwards. What better way to experience this surgery than to have my husband by my side and my friend's motivational encouragement? I think he was happy for both of us, too!

Dr.Shillingford is the best surgeon, PERIOD! He dedicates time to his patients and is caring and passionate about his patients well being. He has done over 4 surgeries and I must say, I will not trust any other surgeon! A+

Dr. Shillingford and his staff are amazing! I have dealt with many different bariatric surgeon's offices in the past few months while trying to find the best fit for me. The first thing I can tell you is that every time I call the office, the office manager Nancy answers the phone and is very kind and helpful. She does not rush to get off the phone and makes sure that all of your questions are answered! I could tell that she truly cares about guiding patients in the right direction and making the patient feel valued and comfortable. Dr. Shillingford made me feel very comfortable and took the time to listen to my concerns and questions. I went into his office a little hesitant about having a weight loss procedure done and came out with no worries! Everyone in the office was amazingly friendly and helpful which which is definitely something to be valued.

As a transplant to the South Florida area, it was often hard to not only find, but establish an appointment in a timely manner with specialists. I was recommended to try Dr. Shillingford after sharing my experience with another local GI provider. I found Dr. Shillingford's staff to be extremely helpful, especially with questions regarding billing and insurance coverage at the time of my first visit. Dr. Shillingford is excellent at explaning procedures and expected outcomes regarding your care. I would highly recommend him to any patients considering bariatric surgery or looking for a good physician to follow up with even if you've already had your surgery.
