Dr Thakkar is the best and I cannot even imagine finding a better GI for my baby girl. You would be hard pressed to find an office more compassionate and available to answer all questions. As a first time mom I had no idea what to expect and each person in the office makes me feel supported and like each one of my questions is important. I'm so grateful to have found such a wonderful team.

Nice office, staff and MD

My son (6 years old) was tested positive for celiac disease in a blood test by Texas Children's Hospital Pediatricians, but to complete the diagnosis we needed to do a biopsy. The Texas Children's GI department was booked for several months out and in the meantime, he would have to keep eating gluten (being in pain) in order to get the correct diagnosis. I came across Dr. Thakkar on accident by looking through my insurance's website. He is so amazing. He got us in quickly and he is just so amazingly patient and explained all the questions we had. When we went in for the biopsy Dr. Thakkar and his nurses/assistants made sure that my son, who was extremely freaked out, didn't see any needles and that his favorite stuffed animal also "had" a biopsy. He genuinely cares about his patients. He also involves my little guy when we go in to get his blood drawn instead of just directing the questions at me. I can't even begin to explain how grateful I am to have found him because he has made… this whole experience so much less painful than it would have been.

Very nice doctor and staff

We followed Dr. Thakkar from another group. He is so great with my daughter and she really likes him. When he left the other group I was very disappointed with who we were placed with so we made the decision to follow Dr. Thakkar to Memorial Hermann Group. I would recommend him to any parent needing a GI doc for their kid!
