Dr. Kara Owens Brooks, MD

She is about taking care of her patients. Yeah you have to wait sometimes but she takes the time to answer your questions and makes sure your other doctors are passing on information to her.

I moved to Crestview in 2017. Getting the kind of health care I got in Houston was impossible. I got a referral to Dr Brooks in 2018. She takes the time to listen and is very patient. She gets back to me in a timely manner. She is a wonderful Doctor. I highly recommend Dr Brooks.

My elderly mother has been a patient for years. She can not get a call back and neither can I. I called to let them know they would be receiving lab work from her cardiologist that shows a UTI. This was a week ago. I have called and left messages for 3 days with no response. They received the labs, but they are now on Dr. Brooks' desk waiting for her to review them. I was told she has over a 1,000 patients, but if we want to do walk-in, they would see her and look at the existing results. I asked why we needed to come in if they were just going to look at the results. If the doctor has too many patients and can't take care of them properly, there is a problem

Dr Brooks is a outstanding family doctor. She is a great listener and is very friendly and engaging. She will send you to specialists which will further diagnose your illness. Some will call that defensive medicine to avoid malpractice lawsuits. Since we were a new patient we are calling it thorough. So far we have no complaints. It would be nice to go back to the old days of one doctor meets you needs instead of ten specialists.

I have seen Dr. Brooks for several years. I am amazed how she cares and spends extra time to be sure you are comfortable with your treatment. I am older and have rarely felt so well cared for. I feel very fortunate to have her as my doctor.

Good when you can see her but hard to get in for acute things. Clinic wants to send everyone to Urgent Care provider or ER when not appropriate. Staff not always professional and friendly. Very poor call back turn around and long hold times.

Doctor Brooks is very thorough and asks pertinent questions about a patients concerns or symptoms. She explores all possibilities and listens intently to a patients complaints. She is excellent at following up on your medical complaints, your care and final outcome. She also recommends excellent specialists as needed when your healthcare requires it. Her staff is always professional, helpful and considerate. Sometimes it takes a little while for her to meet her appointment times 10 minutes or so longer than the scheduled appointment time, I know it is due to her dealing with patients and their issues. I do not have a complaint about waiting since the care I receive is excellent and the care she delivers may take longer than scheduled. If you are new to the area or looking for a new Doctor then look no further, she and her staff always delivers quality care.
