Dr. Karim Zool Khanbhai, MD

After our pediatrician retired, I switched both children to Dr Khanbhai. The staff is friendly and he is on time for his appointments. He is funny and friendly and made my son feel at ease. Thank you to the Dr and staff. We appreciate you

My Grandson was a patient since birth, he was having speech delay and we were highly concerned and beside ourselves, in comes EI they say can he hear?? We assure them he can. After all Dr. K. checks his ears all the time (1.5 seconds on each ear) and said no fluid etc. all normal except no speech! on to Headstart lo and behold fails hearing on both ears! I had suggested to Dr. K an ENT back before his 2nd bday due to a family history of adenoids etc. and was scoffed at and told "NO I AM NOT REFFERING HIM TO AN ENT!" like I was crazy. next up I find a super ENT Dr. Tarro who see my Grandson an immediately says lots of fluid, tubes inserted at 3.5 yrs. talking up a storm and amazed he can hear. This Dude is a hack and terrible. stay away from him.

My child could have died because of Dr. Khanbhai's negligence. He told me that my son had a common cold (he was a year old at the time) and that he would be fine.. fast forward a few hours later my son is rushed to the ER.. his throat was closing. The common cold that the Dr. said he had was actually a severe case of Croup. I do NOT recommend him.

My daughter was very sick with a respiratory infection. She wasn’t even 1 yet. Khanbhai had given her a breathing treatment , which had her a little scared. She was crying and upset that something was covering her face. Dr. Had given me the comment “children like her are the reason people don’t become pediatricians.” I could not believe the words that came out of his mouth. Never stepped foot into his practice again after that. Very disappointed & disgusted with such attitude and rudeness.

We have three children and love Dr K. As my children get older he talks directly to the kids which I love. He is blunt... he will tell you what to worry about, what to watch, and what is nothing. I always go with a list of a few questions that I have so I am prepared bc visits fly by quickly. Last visits my kids left excitedly dying it was the best visit ever!

My kids were patients at this practice for a few years until we realized that he truly did not care about them and only cared about how much money he could make off of each visit. it wasn't bad enough that he made several misdiagnosis but would also refuse to treat simple obvious things as well. He is condescending and does not let you finish your questions and tries to play it off as he is joking. Parents please consider that he is not a good caring doctor for your child and if there is something serious, he could be dangerous.

Dr K is great! He focuses on the child and explains everything to the child and parents. We've been seeing Dr. K for 14 years and am saddened thinking about having to find a new provider for my daughter when the time comes. Robin is wonderful and is always happy to see everyone! :)

Been using Dr. K for more than 12 years. Great physician for kids and babies. He always discusses our concerns at length and spends time interacting with the child as well. When we asked our NICU nurses which Dr. they would choose (12 years ago) they didn't hesitate to say Dr. K. (Not our pediatrician at the time). Never looked back, great man.

Dr. Khanbhai put the kids at ease and takes the time to fill us in as parents. Sometimes he can be a little to much with the joking around, when we're concerned about the health of our child. But for the most part he is a great doctor who is well knowledgeable.

I can't say how happy I am to have found a place to talk about this, and share my experience. Way back in 2004, I thought I had lucked out with a great doctor. Dr. Khanbhai was friendly, enthusiastic, and well, in hindsight, seemed very much a "salesman". So, we were sold. But when my baby was less than two weeks old, I had to take an antibiotic for an infection. Soon after taking it, my son became very fussy, refused my breast and broke out in a rash. This, of course, happened on a weekend and I felt at a loss as to what to do. So I used the on call number to get some help, or at least reassurance. It was fairly early in the morning, but not to parents who had been up all night with their screaming child, and certainly not to a doctor who was being paid quite a bit to be â??on callâ?? that weekend. At three different occasions, Dr. Khanbhai had assured us that we could call at any time, for any concern we may have. â??Thatâ??s why I have a pagerâ??, he said. So, I called, tired and… frantic. Dr. Khanbhai called back, but when I voiced my concerned, he began to reproach me. He raised his voice: â??You donâ??t call me on Saturday morning with a RASH!â?? and thenâ?¦he hung up. I was in tears, my baby was a mess, and I had to call an urgent care clinic to get the help and advice that should have come from my child's pediatrician. The following Monday, I called Dr. Khanbhai's office to retrieve my son's records, and switched to an incredible pediatrician in Providence that has always been nothing short of wonderful. Even ten years on, I still cannot believe my family was treated so badly by a children's doctor, and I am still waiting for the heartfelt apology I know I will never get. But at least now I get to share this experience with other parents.
