Dr. Katerina G Riabova, MD

She is terribly disorganized as a psychiatrist.

Dr. Riabova listens to me and really cares. She works with me to find solutions to problems and the right prescription combinations.

She would not help me figure out how to take all the meds she prescribed for me! No support whatsoever

My son was diagnosed by Dr Riabova at 14 years old as Bi-Polar. Following 3 years of erratic and often violent behavior using prescribed drugs of Lithium, Depakote and Abilify we had him placed in Seattle Children's Hospital where he stayed for 5 days. Their conclusion was that he was NOT Bi-Polar and should never have been prescribed those drugs, especially as a minor child. They immediately stopped his medication on day two and he dramatically improved IMMEDIATELY. When confronted by these findings, Dr. Riabova stated to me over the phone that she cannot be sued because Bi-Polar is the most misdiagnosed condition of all. Very smart Dr. Riabova. Justified seeing him once a month for all that time for five minutes at a large fee on each occasion. WOULD DEFINITELY NEVER RECOMMEND HER EVER PERIOD! If I could give negative stars I WOULD! The years of unnecessary medication have affected our oldest son to the point he used every known drug to offset his behavior. We have five… children and all felt scared and scarred by his presence due to his medications adversely affecting his demeanor. Simple fact, he broke up with a girl and his mother (a nurse) thought he should go see someone. Dr. Riabova decided he was Bi-Polar when in fact he was just slightly depressed. Seattle Children's said the medications WERE NOT HELPING HIM but may have contributed to making him at oftentimes psychotic! To this day he has many issues. We as parents feel we let him down. Thank you Dr. Riabova, your hands are clean.

Dr. Riabova is very well qualified and doesn't jump to prescriptions like a lot of psychiatrists but is great at managing the ones she gives. Highly recommended!

After one visit (60 Min) this doctor recommended that the school change my son's aide. She never engaged the school (to understand the training of the aide) nor did she engage both parents before making this recommendation. After the second (60 Min) visit, she recommended putting my son on medication (he is already on ADHD meds). This recommendation was made without consulting his medical doctor nor both parents. This doctor seems to rush to judgement and does not follow the standards of engaging both parents for input and confirmation before making recommendations. This is dangerous in my parental opinion. Be VERY CAREFUL before you visit this individual.

I have been a patient of Dr. Katerine Riabova for more than five years. Dr. Riabova is a fantastic psychiatrist in that she has in depth knowledge of psychiatric disorders and knows how to treat them. Dr. Riabova is a genuine, compassionate, and a caring individual who cares both for the patients and their family. She always listens intently to me and answers my questions. She respects and honors the choices I make regarding my mental issue. I have felt much better since I have been under her care and words cannot describe how grateful I am for her. Dr. Riabova ‘s qualities and integrity as a psychiatric doctor and more fundamentally as a human being shine through. I recommend Dr. Riabova to any individuals suffering from mental illness.

I've been a patient of Dr. Riabova for more than four years. Yeah, her office is cluttered, but in the good way, like your favorite eccentric professor from college. She is a little unorthodox, which based on the reviews may put off some patients, but she has worked closely with me to dial in medications, and she is always helpful with feedback. I wouldn't be put off by the negative remarks if you want a doctor who deeply understands the disorders she treats. I recommend her frequently to my autistic friends.

Very, very, very late. If you have a couple of hours to waste, then you might actually get to see Dr. Riabova. Besides that, there are papers falling out of every crevice of her office. I kid you not. There are so many HIPAA violations going on in this office, I would hate to be one of her ongoing patients. While I'm in her office, she tries to print out something for me, but piles of folders fall on top of the printer, which jams. She spends the next 15 minutes trying to get it to work, wasting my time. Good grief! Did this person get her license out of a cereal box or what?

No follow ups, as always long wait times, feels as if takes more notes than listens and tries to diagnose.
