Dr. Kathleen Elizabeth Shimp, MD

Dr. Shimp is truly amazing. I’ve been searching for an OBGYN for years, and I’m so grateful to have finally found her. She is genuine, compassionate, and really takes the time to listen. I had surgery with her and felt completely cared for every step of the way even after the procedure. I honestly can’t say enough good things about Dr. Shimp.

Dr. Shrimp is great. This was my second annual visit with her after moving to the area and just starting the early stages of perimenopause so she was able to confirm the few questions I had were indeed the start of that and said it was all normal. Went over what to expect, how it is managed, etc and I also like that I can do my mammogram and pap in the same building one right after the other.

I had to go to my annual appointment with my two-year-old and infant. This of course was not ideal, but Dr. Shimp was great and worked well with me during my visit! Highly recommend!

Dr. Shimp has excellent bedside manner and is very informative. My visit was quick but not rushed. The Fort Myers-Forum office was an overall excellent experience.

I wanted to take the time to write this review to share my brief experience with Dr. Kathleen Shimp, from Premier Woman’s Care, in hopes that no one will go through what I experienced. The practice is very large with several offices in the area. With that being said, attention to detail is lacking, one particular doctor lacked patience and empathy with poor bedside manner. I had a total of 5 scheduled visits where my appointment was scheduled incorrectly, it took more than one appointment to get my blood drawn, and when I finally got my blood drawn, IT WAS LOST. I had three doctor’s visits out of the five and the last visit with my provider, Dr. Shimp was frightful. I left confused, scared, and afraid to leave this person in my care. Due to the lack of communication within the practice, Dr. Shimp appeared overwhelmed, flustered, and unprofessional. She showed a level of low empathy and lacked compassion which is due to burnout over the years in her profession. As a person who works in… the medical field, I would advise that you seek treatment elsewhere if you want empathy, compassion, professionalism, and appropriate bedside manner. If any healthcare professional is missing just one of these qualities, it could affect the health care that you receive. After reading the reviews, I wished I would have done more research. I hope this review was helpful to anyone seeking the appropriate level of care, which everyone deserves.

Dr Shimp is the Best! She spends time with you. Isn't rushed and answers all my questions. Not rushed.

I absolutely love Dr Shimp!! Her bedside manor is so comforting! She takes her time to explain everything to each patient, I never feel as though she is rushing to get to the next room. Just a great visit!
