Dr. Kathleen Fink, MD

As a practicing internist, I have depended on Dr. Kathleen Fink to accurately diagnose and treat an assortment of complex medical problems of my patients for more than 20 years. She is a most caring physician and treats all patients as if they were members of her own family. There was a rumor that Dr. Fink is a type of physician who treat her patients in favor of insurance companies. After a short meeting with her at no choice of mine and the consequences of that meeting I believed what I had heard. Prior to see her my other doctors had recommended me to stay out of work during my neck injury treatment. However, right after my brief visit, she reported to my disability insurance company that I was capable of going back to work. Since I lost all my benefits due to such report, I decided to support myself via unemployment benefits while looking for a suitable job. Unfortunately she refused to fill out a small form (6 questions) from unemployment commission and to state what she had stated previously to the disability insurance company. I hope the medical reform act could fix such behaviors.

Kathleen Fink is a source of embarrassment in medical field. I was referred to her by my previous physician for my neck injury. I had all my medical records and exams ready on my chart. She even did not bother to look at my file. She was unfocused and unprepared. She said that she assumed I had done MRI!!! "you assume? Have you reviewed my medical record?" I said. She did not read the questions I had answered on the questionnaire sheet that the office gave me upon my arrival regarding my condition either. I believe the medical board should monitor the physicians' practice every now and then for the sake of patients.

We've been going to -- and sending friends to -- Dr. Fink as needed for over 15 years. She is a brilliant diagnostician, who again and again has managed to make a specific and accurate diagnosis that other MDs missed. For soft tissue injuries, there's simply nobody better. She's kind, respectful, hands-on, listens well and spends as much time as needed. She's very conservative in treatment, leaning heavily toward non-invasive methods, but very specific in recommended treatments.If this sounds like a glowing recommendation, it is. I cannot think of another doctor I've encountered who I could recommend so unequivocally. The same does not apply to the office staff. It's hard to get an appointment, the office staff seems overburdened, so not always very welcoming. I would not bother seeing Dr. Fink for something minor; it could take 3 months to get an appt. Only go to her for something that is serious, stubborn, complex, or hard-to-diagnose.

Dr. Fink nails the diagnosis right on the head. She is professional and caring. I don't know how I could have gone on much longer with my pain if it had not been for her

Dr. Fink is hard to get to see because she has a high number of patients. So be patient. She is the top of the filed in dealing with spinal, back and neuromuscualr problems. She successfully treated me for a synovial cyst pressing on my sciatic nerve.

Getting an initial appointment took some time, but now as a patient, I've never had a problem getting appointments even on relatively short notice. Dr. Fink is terrific at diagnosing and explains the various treatment choices clearly. I have recommended her to several people, and everyone is unanimous: Kathleen Fink is even better than her excellent reputation!!!

Dr. Fink is knowledgeable, skilled, has amazing communication skills, is patient, kind, and I trust her implicitly. What more could you ask for in a doctor?

I received an epidural from Dr. Fink on the recommendation of my orthopaedist. She has a terrific reputation, and is very attentive and helpful, and it sounds like her stats are astounding. Unfortunately, while the procedure seemed to go well, I quickly developed at TERRIBLE epidural headache -- an unusual, but not uncommon (10% is overall average -- Dr. Fink suggest her stats were significantly better than that...) side effect. Over the next two weeks, Dr. Fink gave me her personal number and made herself exceptionally available to help me out as we did a second corrective procedure. After that, she took me on as a patient. So far, she's managed to pick up on one element of my issues no one else has noticed, but as I am not cured its difficult for me to say with absolute confidence how good of a diagnostician she is (its worth noting that three orthopedists, two osteopaths, and two gen pracs have also failed at this endevor), but she has a great reputation and has been wonderful to… work with.

Previous to visiting Dr. Fink, I had neck pain and was in physical therapy (which did not work) for quite some time. After meeting with Dr. Fink, I was very impressed with her diagnosis(which the previous doctor did not diagnose). She ordered more physical therapy. However, this time the therapy worked because of the accurate diagnosis. After a month of physical therapy I was amazed that I could move my neck WITHOUT any pain! Dr. Fink is very kind and caring. With just one visit, you can tell that she truley cares about her patients.
