Dr. Bloom performed cystoscopy and removed bladder/prostate tumor then abandoned us. Told me to call if we needed anything. Pops ended up in Baylor ER 4 days after release from hospital. TERRIBLE rude heartless associate (wish I had his name) talked to me on the phone after answering service paged him 3 times. I begged him to ask ER Dr to give Pops something for pain and agitation and admit him. Pops had 102.4 temp and they gave him a dose of antibiotic IV, put in a catheter, gave him dose of morphine and Ativan and sent him round trip back to his memory care facility. Pops suffered terribly for 2 weeks before we finally got him in the hospice floor at Baylor Carrollton. He died less than 2 days later. I tell everyone this Urology group and the ER dr at Baylor Irving are heartless bastards. No one should suffer the way my dad did...
I previously wrote... My Pops died 2 weeks after he was sent back to memory care facility with Foley catheter. When Pops was taken to ER 4 days after being released from Baylor Irving I begged the ER dr and the Urologist on call (he was rude and acted like I was a bother. Dr Bloom said call any time and the one time I called, the dr on call brushed me off and as someone else posted, washed his hands of us) to hospitalize my Pops. My Pops suffered terribly without proper pain control and he was so agitated and kept pulling on the Foley. He had 2 days of dignity at Baylor Carrollton; hospice has the 4th floor. He was given morphine IV every 2 hrs and then Dilaudid. We were let down by doctors, Baylor Irving, Vitas hospice nurses, and Avalon Memory Care in Irving. No one should suffer the way my Pops did. Disposable elderly... Urologist diagnoses, removes tumors, then washes hands of you.
89 yr old father admitted through ER less than 2 weeks ago. Cystoscopy done a little over a week ago and tumor scraped out that had gone through bladder wall into prostate. Sent back to Memory Care facility 4 days later with Foley. Back to ER 5 days later with 102.4 temp, catheter not flowing, bleeding, etc. brought by ambulance and sending back by ambulance when antibiotic IV stops. They don't have the beds for my Dad. Heartless bastards.
