Dr. Kenneth Robert Alper, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Alper’s for almost a decade and I can honestly say I have never felt in better hands. He is thorough in every way, extremely professional and courteous. I highly recommend Dr. Alper as I could not be happier with the quality of care I have received.

Dr. Alper has been an enormous factor in my young son's progress in very difficult times for several years. There is nobody that has had a greater effect on our lives in regard to medicinal solutions as well as pinpointing psychological solutions with focus and extremely valuable guidance.

Horrible bedside manner,very arrogant, not open to your opinions

His specialty is prescribing medication. He says it. He is not a psychiatrist who is going to help you with therapy. He's there to give medication. If you want someone to manage your meds, then he's okay. You can be in-and-out of his office in ten minutes.

Dr. Alper focused in on the areas that I could improve on and made changes to my medications that brought about remarkable progress. Several of the changes were small modifications to the way I took the medications, which I believe only a specialist with considerable experience would be aware of. Dr. Alper's office is efficient and I found him to be professional and easy to deal with. I'm very happy with my choice to see him.

I lucked out discovering Dr. Alper after years of seeing other doctors and trying numerous meds. On my first appointment he took more time than any other doctor i have seen. I had the impression that he likes to be thorough. He not only paid attention to what I was saying but also discussed with me about alternatives. The anti-depressant regimen he put me on also let me me lose about 30 pounds of the weight I gained from the meds I was on before I started seeing Dr. Alper, and his meds were more effective also. I am grateful for what he has done for me.

Dr. Alper helped me overcome the stigma of mediation and helped me understand my lifelong struggle of ADHD. We tried a few different medications before finding the perfect balance. I'm very grateful for everything he has helped me with.

Dr. Alper prescribed the right medication on his first attempt, after numerous healthcare professionals over a span of five years had failed to find the correct antidepressant to treat my severe clinical depression. After two hospitalizations, I had pretty much given up pursuing any further avenues of treatment until I met Dr. Alper, who basically saved my life from the miserable and debilitating “existence” that I had become accustomed to, with virtually no contact with family or the rest of the outside world, fear of leaving my home, and losing my business. Although I’m now retired, along with the help of a therapist, Dr. Alper has given me back a life that I never thought that I’d ever see again and has been for me in fact, a miracle worker. I have been under his care for over two years now, and will continue my treatment with him for the rest of my life!

There are no words to describe how much Dr. Alper has supported my daughter with empathy and compassion. My daughter has gone through numerous brain surgeries which create short term behavioral issues . He finds the right balance of medication for her to maintain a healthy and stable quality of life. Many doctors would just write a prescription and send you on your way. Dr Alper takes his time in evaluating you to make sure that he is doing what's best for you. He is truly dedicated and committed to his patients and always available when you need him. I am not a patient of his but he has been there when I needed guidance and supported me through some tough times with my daughter. We would be totally lost without him. We are blessed having him in our lives!

Dr. Alper saved my life. Nearly 8 years of being misdiagnosed and improperly medicated took a heavy toll and literally crushed my will to live. Being the exceptional diagnostician that he is, Dr. Alper did not readily accept the laundry list of prescriptions and diagnoses that I came in with. He was the only psychiatrist (and sadly, there were many,) to start from scratch and seek out what was really underneath the mess that walked into his office in 2010. This is a RARE quality. I live a good life now instead of a 24/7 crisis. Dr. Alper is professional, respectful, replies to my emails and calls swiftly. He is there when I need him. I am not in the habit of recommending doctors but I have recommended him and will continue to do so with complete confidence.
