Dr. Kenneth Joseph Baker, MD

I came to the hospital due to severe back pain and was dismissed and told that it was regular pregnancy pains when I continually advised that it wasn’t since there was a difference in the types of pains. He rushed out of the room and dismissed my concerns without even consulting with the urine sample I took. When I found out I had a miscarriage, it was disclosed that I had a UTI at the time of that visit which I was not notified of since my urine was not tested until after I was told to leave.

Dr,Baker has put off much of my issues through out the years. Last Tuesday I called with an issue, the receptionist put me through to his nurse. I left a detailed message concerning internal and external vaginal pain. This being said , my Mom had ovarian cancer, breast cancer and died from leukemia. It is now a week and a day later and still no return call. I called again today and nothing. I am changing doctors and reporting this.

When I visited my old OBGYN doctor, my experience was so awful I was terrified to see another doctor. I’m SO glad I chose Dr. Baker! I told the nurse about my last visit and how I was very uneasy, she took amazing care of me and made me feel so relaxed! Then when the Doctor came in, the exam was quick and painless. He explained everything that he was doing and made a lot of small talk to ease my nerves. I had a few concerns and he was very attentive to me while I spoke, very thorough in his explanation. I can’t even express how nice it is to just have a doctor actually listen!

VERY disappointed and uneasy about being in his care. He looked at a single complaint I had for a minute from a distance, diagnosed it as something non-pregnancy related that he's not very familiar with and then blew off or fully ignored everything that made that diagnosis very inconsistent/ unlikely and everything else I said about any other symptom I was having (including the biggie: significantly decreased fetal movements). He brushed everything off and didn't give me the opportunity to ask any general questions I had. Very frustrating experience with this doctor. I tend to trust doctors' opinions but this left me feeling VERY uncomfortable and concerned. I have requested to never have him as my doctor again, and very fortunately, the other doctors in the practice are all wonderful and attentive!

This Dr is horrible, spent almost no time with me, didn't listen to anything I had to say despite me being a high risk pregnancy. Also showing up unknowingly to their albany office, I was treated to the sight of multiple drug deals going on right outside as I tried to find safe parking, scared to even take my 4 year old out of the car! After such an awful experience, I'd go ANYWHERE ELSE rather than have this butcher deliver my baby. If I could give 0 stars I would.

I haven't seen Dr Baker but he sounds wonderful. My problem is the practice. They have one receptionist to make appointments for 5 doctors. She never answers the phone but calls you back hours later. When you do get to speak with her she is extremely rude and impatient. A terrible system for trying to make appointments at a busy practice. Last time I called for my yearly check up, I couldn't get an appointment at a time I needed 3 MONTHS into the future.

Dr Baker has delivered all of my children. He listens to you, understands you and makes you feel like your the only patient he has. He's very understanding. I would recommend him to the world if I could.

My preference in doctors has always been women especially for my pregnancies until I met Dr. Kenneth Baker. He has a friendly deposition and beyond question, has the best bedside manner of any doctor I've met. He listens AND pays attention to your concerns and has an air of trust that puts you immediately at ease. Not only is Dr. Baker well-liked by his patients, he is also adored by the staff.

After months actually 2 years of constant bleeding, 2 hospitalizations, many different pills, I was sent to Dr. Baker. This Doctor fixed my issue on my first visit, he listened and actually cared about what I had to say. I wont say my issue is totally healed but its getting there. Recently I moved out of Albany to come back home and I cant make the 3 hour drive to see him but should I have problem again I will glady make the drive to see him.

Dr. Baker is amazing: caring, knowledgeable, proactive, and a great coach in the delivery room.
