Expert Hands and Care

I have been a patient of Dr. Spence for 10 years. Thank goodness I began with someone skilled in understanding the aging process. I began injectibles and fillers at 37 and was quiet nervous about the process. I did not want to appear overfilled nor did I wish to look unnatural. I wanted to slow the appearance of the lines on my forehead and lines around my nose and lips. Dr. Spence carefully explained the aging process and the plan to manage it. He completely blows my mind with the precision of the treatment sites, the product he uses and the quantities. Now at 53 I look great and age is truly just a number. Thanks Dr. Spence, your artistry, skill, integrity and care are truly amazing.

Looking worse after facelift!!

I had a facelift with Dr. Spence but he didn't do a brow lift so my skin was all wrinkled up around my eyes! I felt like a freak! I also still have marionette lines on both sides of my mouth. I thought those would be gone! Went to another doctor & had a brow lift done!! I spoke to 3 doctors & they all said the brow lift would be part of the overall recommendation for me. Don't was your money here! You'll have to have it redone! I'm now speaking with doctors to get rid of the marionette lines on either side of my mouth!! Paying for this 3 times now!!

Tummy tuck with breast lift/implant

It's been 3 years now since my procedure. I can honestly say, as a 24 year old living up to today's unrealistic expectations, I am so happy! To give a brief summary of myself and my experience - I became pregnant at a young age. I was extremely skinny, sickly skinny prior to becoming pregnant. Fast forward through pregnancy and to delivery - I had gained 130 pounds! I was 5'7 and 242 pounds. After breast feeding (my breast went from an A cup to an E) and my stomach childless (via c-section) I had a lot of extra skin. At the time, only 19, I became very insecure and depressed. I never wanted to wear a bathing suit, due to my "breasts" being what I liked to refer to as "fried eggs with nipples" and my stomach skin that folded over anything from undergarments to pants. I had lost most of the weight - which Dr. Spence advised at our consultation. He wanted me to lose what I could and make sure having this surgery was actually necessary, considering my age. After a year of focusing on losing weight, toning and every "skin tightening" cream out there, the skin remained lose. I expressed my issues with my breasts which he and the staff understood. We decided on a lift, with a small implant. PLEASE UNDERSTAND that a GOOD surgeon will NOT allow you to oversize. It is not good for your body! They will cause a lot of discomfort in the long run - also a lot of money because eventually, your skin will begin to stretch from the implant (age and gravity are a thing). We also decided a tummy tuck with no muscle tightening would be best. Fast forward to surgery. The staff, from the front desk, to the anesthesiologist, Dr. Spence, and all in between were AMAZING. Aside from my c-section, I had never had surgery. Going under, I was comforted by all the surgical staff. I woke up, with the exact discomfort they described. None of the healing process was a surprise. I don't scar well, and went in knowing this. I believe a huge problem with a lot of the unsatisfied reviews is the lack of understanding that every individual will have a different healing experience. You cannot compare your results to someone else's. I had an amazing recovery, it was fairly painful, but having your waist cut from hip to hip, and breasts stuffed with a foreign object shouldn't be something you expect to breeze through. Currently, I have little to no scars on my breast, and they look so natural. If you're going to Dr. Spence, don't expect anything else. I have a lot of friends that, had they not known about my surgery, they would have never suspected that my breasts weren't my own. They are comfortable, and sexy. They bounce and are natural to the touch. My tummy tuck is absolutely beautiful. I have a flat stomach with the cutest belly button. Considering my bodys inability to handle scarring, the scar is minimal. During the consultation they express that a tummy tuck is NOT a permanent fix!!! If you gain weight, your stomach is not Invulnerable to the effects of weight gain. An unhealthy lifestyle, which they also express will postpone or even prevent healing - it's common sense. Anyone getting surgery expecting no scars, and impossible standards to be met should seek therapy instead. Dr spence helps those who need it, not those who want it. I am thankful for the relationship I have built with the staff. Also to add, those complaining about the post-op room - you just had a surgery you opted for that wasn't necessary to your survival or existence. Lay down for a few minutes or hours and deal with it. Thank you again! I wish we could post photos! I leave with this advice - just like child birth, or traveling, or food types, or literally ANYTHING ELSE in the world that we experience as humans, each persons perception, expectation and experience will be different. Please accept that maybe it wasn't a bad surgery, but instead a bad response from your body. Not everyone is made to be remade. Sarah D, 24 Orlando Florida (operation May, 22nd 2014)

Don't Bother

$8,000 and results are bad. Paid for overnight stay, but they had not planned that until the last minute. Went to have stitches out by a doctor and all I got was an assistant. I had a hard patch on my left side which she stated it was a bruise. Wrong. It was necrosis and should have been treated immediately. It took over 6 months for it to close. I now have a pink spot where it was. The skin under my chin began to fall on one side after 6 months and is continuing to get loose. Don't waste you time and money.
