My husband had a heart attack and needed triple by pass. He was a difficult patient. Dr Shortt spent so much time talking to him, it was amazing how Dr. Shortt could calm him down.

Saved my husband life when we were told he would never make it through surgery. His grandchildren are grateful.

Without warning, I suffered aortic dissection. Dr. Short and his team performed emergency open heart surgery that involved a root replacement. Dr. Short is a caring, excellent physician who is easy to talk with. He saved my life!

I cannot say enough good things about our Dr. Shortt. He has excellent bedside manners, a very humble presence (yet very capable and very well published), and was always available to answer questions and never, ever seemed annoyed. I rarely like surgeons (for obvious Type A reasons), but I really like Dr. Shortt. I will always recommend him from now on forward.

I wasn't Dr. Shortt's patient, but my mother was/is. From surgery to follow-up care, he has been awesome. My family is truly fortunate him working with us in support of my mom's health. Thank you for all you've done.

This doctor is not only an incredible surgeon, but also an incredible human being. There is not the least bit of arrogance typically associated with surgeons. He clearly genuinely cares about his patients and their families as human beings. I am sorry that he has left the NY area. Virginia is Blessed to have him!
