Dr. Khalid Mahmood, MD

Dr Khalid Mamood is in my opinion the worst doctor you can have for your loved ones dealing with cancer. My mother had STAGE 4 lung cancer that spread to bone cancer and was so severe that it had eaten a hole in her arm as well as her spine and cause paralysis in both her legs. "Dr" Mahmood, after seeing the xrays, telling us that it is cancer and severe......and not yet getting back the type and stage... regularly told my mother she will be "going home the next day". We heard this daily and my mother was dead in 3 weeks. She never left the hospital. He also told my mother that her Cancer was "treatable". It may have treatment but it was not curable which he never said this to my mother. She thought treatable meant curable. And he never told her different. He also told me if we got her to radiation she would be able to live and move around like she used too....... a complete lie. Do Texas doctors make money from cancer treatments??? Google it. I had request all the… doctors to come on at the same time to ensure Dr. Mahmood would be honest and tell her it was fatal. Let me say that again.... I had to call Dr. Mahmood in to tell my mother. He told me and I guess wanted me to be the one to tell her the diagnosis. I insisted they do it with me in the room. My mother passed away 3 weeks after she was diagnosed with cancer and in his care. This "doctor" did not do the right thing in making sure he knew what kind of cancer it was before he started telling her it was treatable and she would be returning home. If he is going to use the word treatable to a non medical person, he needs to explain EVERYTHING! Dr. Mahmood's staff also kept calling to find out why she never came in for her follow up... this is all after she had passed and he was her doc so he should know she was dead. It causes horrible grief for the doctor who cared for her to have his staff call and ask why she hasn't shown. he should update his patient information. My experience was horrific and he made a horrible situation worse. He should be ashamed of himself and learn how to be honest with this patients..... giving them the full truth.
