They need a receptionist to answer the frigging phones. VERY AGGRAVATING. It overshadows all else

Went to The Villages location. Office staff was courteous and professional. The doctor spent more than ample time assessing me and arranged for a colonoscopy. They perform procedures in a Taveras location where the nurses and staff are phenomenal (arrive early if you are scheduled). They schedule you early but you are seen based on when you arrive. Following the procedure the doctor met with me to share his findings and I was released after the nurses assessed me. I was very pleased with the entire process. B Lewis RN

Awful, awful hospital. *Please read this review before coming here.* We went to the ER and sat in the hallway for 9+ full hours before going into an actual ER room which we stayed in for another 21 hours (a total of 30 hrs) after we were admitted and were supposed to get a room upstairs. The nurses told us that there are several patients that have been waiting in the hallway in a chair in the ER for DAYS. Not only that but you will NEVER see a doctor here. They have canceled multiple endoscopy appts on us when my husband has been in excruciating pain for 5 days straight, pain so bad that he violently throws up and they cancel with NO explanation. The director was so upset by our poor treatment that she personally paged our GI doctor, Lalbahadur Nagabhairu, the ONLY GI doctor at this facility who no one knows where he is or why he has ABANDONED his patient for 3 whole days and she demanded that he finally come in our room at 5pm to see us. Mind you this was after my husband was… scheduled to have an endoscopy done yesterday, then this morning but they canceled this morning, reinstated his appt for 1-2pm, then once it was 3pm we were told that they said they’d come get him in another hour but never did and cancelled it again with no explanation. The doctor finally came in the room and LIED to our faces saying that he has the lab results back and that my husband had a bacterial infection which was confirmed that the lab results were NEVER put into the system by the nurse. The doctor didn’t even know we had stool tests taken until AFTER I mentioned it. This doctor said he wanted us to stay a FOURTH day to have the endoscopy done. Then when my husband was annoyed and said “we were supposed to have it done yesterday” the doctor said “there is no supposed to” that “my husband was getting hostile” because his tone was annoyed and the doctor WALKED OUT OF THE ROOM. Mind you we have an additional witness who saw all of this. This man knew what he was doing was wrong and tried to turn it around and use our frustration from his neglect against us. Imagine how he treats his elderly patients. Dr. Lalbahadur Nagabhairu should not be in practice. Now my husband who is still in EXCRUCIATING PAIN, most likely has a stomach ulcer on top of his colitis, but has no diagnoses now since this joke of a doctor wouldn’t do the endoscopy and we have to start all over after wasting 3 days of our time here. All this doctor wanted to do was run up our bill since we don’t have insurance. We will be filing a lawsuit for malpractice and patient abandonment against this facility as we are TRAUMATIZED by the way Dr. Lalbahadur Nagabhairu has mistreated my husband.

When I made my appointment, I was told over the phone that they perform band ligation at Gastrointestinal Consultants, and I prepped and arrived thinking I might finally find some relief from the hemorrhoids that have been tormenting me for decades. I waited an extraordinarily long time in the waiting room just to be called back and all they seemed to care about was my insurance information and $90 copay. Despite the fact that I was clearly in tremendous pain and distress, Dr. Lal made light of my condition and made his recommendation for surgery, ignoring my insurance concerns, specifically that insurance won’t cover surgery because it usually doesn’t work and it's not life-or-death. I was told I would be afforded a payment plan, and I was given a card and told to contact the scheduler, Marcus, who would tell me when and where and what and how to approach the procedure. In my pain and distress, I took the card and went home to contact Marcus. After 3 solid weeks of trying to reach the… scheduler via telephone, email and text, I was forced to give up and find another GE to start the process over. Because of your poor bedside manner and heartless sadistic scheduler, I was forced to endure 2 more months of agonizing pain before I was able to get band ligation and find relief. The actions of Dr. Lal Nagabhairu and his staff were atrocious and I strongly recommend finding another GE practice. And to scheduler Marcus, who callously ignored my emails and messages, I hope you someday find yourself with a screaming case of hemorrhoids and nobody willing to help you. I can't leave 0 stars and I want my $90 back.

Wasted on my time to drive there and when we get there they state they don’t take the insurance even though they checked beforehand and I gave them all the information and they made the appointment How about you pay me for my time and gas that you wasted

This is the most incompetent medical practice I have ever encountered…. And this is over six decades of life. I called six times trying to get my colonoscopy scheduled. I was finally given a date and told they would call me the day before to confirm. By late afternoon on the day before, having not heard from them, but having completed most of the miserable preparation required for a colonoscopy, I called the answering service twice before getting a call back. I basically was told they hadn’t arranged it with my insurance company and all of the prep and fasting I had done was for nothing. No apologies, in fact, she was perturbed that I was upset about it. I never post negative reviews… but if I was a patient looking for a gastro doctor, I would run quickly away from this practice.

Saw him at hospital when one of the nurses I work with recommended seeing him. From what I understand he takes up tough cases. Mine certainly was. I went to a university hospital in Gainesville without success. He diagnosed me after a few tests and got me a solution. Thankful to him for his cool efficiency. Recommend highly

Saw him for reflux issues and difficulty with my swallowing. After a simple endoscopy he corrected it with a dilation. It improved the problem tremendously and a day/night type of difference. Recommend highly!

Did a very complicated procedure for me in his surgical center. Staff are very nice and hard working. They make you feel very comfortable. Thankful to the doc, it relieved me of a chronic abdominal pain that I’ve been seeking help for a long time. Thank him immensely
