Dr. Lawrence R Ryan has the following 1 specialty
- Family Medicine
A family practitioner is a doctor who specializes in caring for people of all ages, at all stages of life. Rather than focusing on the treatment of one disease or patient population, family practitioners are often the doctors that people see for their everyday ailments, like cold and flu or respiratory infections, and health screenings. When necessary, family practitioners will provide referrals for conditions that require the expertise of another specialist.
The doctors may also provide physicals, inoculations, prenatal care, treat chronic diseases, like diabetes and asthma, and provide advice on disease prevention.

Dr. Ryan is unique of all the Doctors I have ever known in one critical area. Beyond being a very, very good doctor, when you are with Dr. Ryan you have his undivided attention. He answers all of your questions and he takes his time with you to figure out what it is that you need; I have never felt rushed or sensed any impatience from him with my questions and concerns. He is a pleasant man, but he also puts it straight - you are there for his counsel and treatment and he expects you to do your part. I like that kind of teamwork with a doctor. Because of this you can probably expect to wait awhile as he does the same for all of his patients, but that is a small price to pay for a doctor who is THERE when he is with you.
I've been going to this dr since I was 11. A part of me is really surprised at some of these reviews because he has never treated me poorly and I've been going to him for a long time. I think he's professional in my opinion. I can't imagine him ever raising his voice to me. He diagnosed me bipolar and was honest enough to say I needed a expert(a psychiatrist) to continue prescribing my psychiatric medications. And his staff saved me the trouble of calling my insurance and found one for me before I left his office. I think he genuinely cares for the well being of his patients. When I was severely depressed once he even called my parents a couple days after I saw him to ask if I was ok and then spoke with me on the phone at like 7pm after his office hours. To let me know that I had everything to live for and that things weren't hopeless. He's definitely part of my support system. Sometimes the wait is long but so what. I've never been there for more than an hour. I've even made same day appointments . He's always been very informative to me whenever he makes a diagnosis and I've never had a problem with the medications he's given me. I mean what else do you expect him to do? Give you a shiatsu make you laugh and give you Xanax? He's a doctor. He listens to your symptoms makes a diagnosis and gives you meds. I wouldn't care if he was cold to me as long as he gets my prescriptions right and keeps me healthy who cares. His bedside Manner really isn't that bad.
I have seen Dr. Ryan for many years. At one point I switched to a different primary and stuck it out for a several years. At this office, I never saw the actual doctor and only the PAC. I finally switched back to Dr, Ryan with much ease and even with all the medical conditions I have, he was able to make the transition easy. He got me going on all the necessary medications and the office staff promptly gave me all the necessary referrals to my specialists. Dr. Ryan had me come in routinely and even worked with me to have my own health goals to achieve between appts, He knows what he is doing, answers my questions, and explains steps for medical treatment and what I need to do to have better health. He is honest and some might think it brutal. I find it refreshing that he is honest and concerned for my health. I wish I did not have to switch primary care due to my insurance and can only pray I have a knowledgeable doctor with good bed side manner like Dr, Ryan.
