I had a labinectomy almost 3 years ago from Dr. Todd and found it an all around good experience. He is a busy guy and that is why he has his PA's do their job which is to assist him with the standard procedures until he has an MRI to look at. They have to go through a list of things that may or may not help you before insurance will pay for MRI's. I currently have another issue with my back and I just started to go back to him for hoping to bypass some of the hoops that my regular Dr. had me do last time. Unfortunately I still have to go through hoops to get another MRI to see what is going on and there is no way around it. The worst part about it is that no one wants to give me anything for the pain other than off the counter pain medication which is not helping, so I am having to suffer quite a bit. The first surgery was handled very professionally, courteously , and I found not one issue that I was displeased with or I would have never went back. I do hope that I do not have to have surgery with whatever is going on with my back but if there is something, I have full confidence in Dr. Todd.
I had a laminectomy and woke up with TWO (2) drop feet and nerve damage in both feet. I feel he strung me on for 18 months with his after care. Also during that 18 month period, he to fine ways to avoid and had me sent to another Dr regarding a so called infection in my leg bone..the way the other Dr reacted, I have a feeling there wasn't any infection. Heary acts very aloft and doesn't have good bed side manner. I would not recommend for back surgery.
I was in considerable pain and Dr Todd refused to operate on me. He kept ordering more and more tests and said he couldn't see what the issue was. Once we did operate we discovered a huge issue. After the first surgery, I woke up with an extra cut on my back from where the scalpel 'slipped', my sutures also opened up 2 months post surgery so i had to go back in again.I had an issue with the top of my spine a year later so I went in for a follow up, he told me he does not operate on top of spines. After seeing another doctor, it turns out i have an infection from the surgery a year ago that was not treated properly by dr. todd which is why he set me to another doctor. Now i'm scheduled for ANOTHER surgery to fix his mistakes.
Dr. Todd performed lumbar surgery on me, and I woke up with the left side of my body asleep. I continued to have issues and he blew me off. I browbeat him into doing tests and he discovered a screw had come out of the plate in my back. He went back in and removed the metal from my back. He did NOT EVEN BOTHER TO COME TO THE HOSPITAL during my stay. I was seen 99% of the time by his PA. I will NEVER go back to him or recommend him to anyone. I have another doctor in the OrthoNeuro group who is wonderful. The company as a whole is great, but they need to get rid of this doctor. He is arrogant and rude.
