Dr. Lauren Elizabeth Puretz, DO

I don't know how this woman still has a medical license. The list of nightmare stories I have heard from her exceeds the space here. She was incredibly rude and disrespectful to myself and my husband. She did not honor my wishes and pulled my baby out when I was not having a contraction. I asked her not to as it was causing me great pain, and she said rolling her eyes, "You're having a contraction" First of all, I clearly was not as medicated as she thought I was, and secondly, I could see on the machine that I was clearly not having a contraction. I'm not sure why she was in such a hurry, she pulled on the placenta, against contractions as well causing the placenta to rupture which was even more painful than 40 hours of labor. I felt violated by her and am horrified that a women would ever treat another woman this way. She was incredibly rough on my when she was sewing me up. Stay far away from her!

As a first time mom, I highly recommend Dr. Lauren Puretz! I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Puretz as my doctor and I will definitely be using her to deliver my future babies. She made my experience as enjoyable as possible even though I was diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum. My appointments were always quick and on schedule which I am very thankful for since I am a teacher and it is often hard to take time off from work. I truly believe that Dr. Puretz can handle any situation that is thrown at her. She is knowledgeable, caring and, I trust her completely with my care. I have recommended her and will continue to recommend her to all of the women that I know!

I was having severe bleeding during my periods and my GP referred me to Dr. Puretz. First she came in all rushed and made me feel like I was bothering her. She said she wanted to take a biopsy. I asked her if I would be put out for the procedure. She said if I wanted to be sedated that would require a hospital appointment, and she didn't know when she could get to it and it would cost more. I asked her how painful it would be to do it in the office she said "some women don't hardly feel anything other women scream". because I wanted to get this problem dealt with I agreed to do it then. It was so painful I almost passed out. After it was over I thought I was going to get sick. I stayed in the exam room by the sink for about 10 minutes until the nausea passed. She finally came back with a recommendation for a procedure and she handed me a pamphlet. She told me to go home, read it, and schedule an appointment to have it done. She did not discuss any other alternatives for my condition. I… did research on the procedure and found that most women that had it were disappointed with the results and many said there problems got worse. I called her and told her I decided I did not want that procedure. Before I could ask about a hysterectomy, she just said o.k. whatever and hung up. My friend recommended another ob-gyn who was wonderful. I would never go back to Dr. Puretz. She is the worst doctor I have ever been to.

I was a patient of Dr. Lauren Puretz for 2 or 3 years, since she came to Colorado from Michigan. During that time, she failed to return a call from my neurologist and subsequently took me off a medication that adversely affected my neurological disease. She also made a mistake when submitting a prescription for me to my insurance and checked off the wrong dosage on a form - an error that would have seriously affected my health if I hadn't caught the error beforehand. Also, she once walked into the exam room and had already misdiagnosed me with polyps before even speaking to me to get the details. In the end, I was right and she was wrong, and she admitted as such. I am looking for a new ob-gyn now and would not recommend Dr. Puretz to others.

I LOVE Dr Puretz !! I can't say enough great things about her. I had a horrible miscarrage, and she supported me and my husband through the whole thing. Then we were blessed with our beautiful little girl. The delivery was everything I had hoped for. She was an awesome dr !! I don't understand why she is getting all of these one star reviews !

She had terrible bedside manner and did not seem to have good medical knowledge. She took a "one size fits all" approach rather than treating the actual patient. She gives DOs a bad name!

After the many many years of having problems with several issues I went to Dr. Lauren Puretz and I'm absolutely miserable about the experience I have had and the medical concerns that now have gotten way worse because of a neglectful doctor who doesn't care a bit about her patients. The staff is completely nonresponsive and I'm devastated by the lack of professionalism this office has given me. I have so many emergency room bills because Dr. Puretz said she called in medications that never were sent!! A treatment plan that she won't respond to when you have an emergency you're just told to go into the ER when she's the one at fault for not doing her job. This review is where I start to advocate for all the women who have had the same experience!! Read the reviews yourself, we all say the same thing. I am soooo disappointed and completely devastated by this experience. I don't understand how and why she's a doctor if she doesn't act like one. This is truly unfair and unethical!!

Dr. Puretz was the Dr. on call when I delivered my last baby, and when she came into the room (just a few minutes before delivery), she greeted no one, made eye contact with no one and basically let the baby fall onto the bed. She made no announcement of birth and as I was in an awkward hands and knees position, she did not help my get into position to hold the baby or lift the baby to me or anything. She did not wait for my body to natural expel the placenta, but started tugging on the cord, eventually detaching it. Consequently, she had to manually go in and pull out chunks of placenta from my body. I had birthed naturally, so all this was done without pain medication. She was super detached and uncaring, mostly she seemed irritated that she was there and having to deal with it. The only good thing I can say about her is that she allowed me an 8 minute delay in the cord clamping. She had terrible bedside manners and I would not recommend her to anyone.
