Have you seen Dr. Laurie Coyner?
Dr. Coyner is kind and seems to have good judgments about what meds will be most helpful. She seems to really care. She is very overextended with an extremely large practice. One must wait even months to get an appointment. She could be more effective if she were not so overextended with such an exhausting practice. She is kind and empathic. Have benefited greatly from her medication decisions. As everyone, she gets tired from having such a large, demanding practice and managing a psych unit as well. She has been short with me twice only. She runs a loose ship on supervision of the psych unit. I see she really cares and understands but psychiatry must carry some extraordinary sadness due to the nature of the sadness of the mentally ill. Can be VERY HELPFUL. Appears to be very overcomited. Seems to really care about seeing her patients get better. Don't have any needs of Dr. Coyner from Thursday afternoon until Monday morning. She can't be God. She is human. But not available during those stated times.

Dr. Coyner is very easy to talk to but difficult to locate due to multiple clinics she sees patints at.

Family member was under Dr. Laurie Coyner's care for 3 weeks for diagnosis for depression and anxiety. One of the meds under her treatment plan was Zyprexa which is typically subscribed for patients with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. This med only made patient worse and brought on a whole new onset of other issues/problems. Dr's communication with family was terrible, she was rude and a very uncompassionate individual. Dr's treatment plan was a huge setback for patient. Patient was extremely over medicated. Since leaving Dr. Coyner's care, patient has been weined off the meds perscribed under Dr. Coyner's treatment plan.
