Dr. Leonardo Miguel Antaris, MD

He doesn’t talk. He doesn’t explain. His staff tried to explain the surgery to me and I was so scared, I had to leave. Something just wasn’t right. I can’t say he’s nice, or good at explaining.

Dr Anteris has been caring for my eyes for several years now. His entire staff is caring and professional. Diabetic retinopathy can be frightening. Dr. Anteris is a skilled physician, whom I respect and trust with my vision.

I was in the office as a patient. Was my first time in the office and as I was waiting in the second waiting area to be seen. I witnessed the Dr arguing with a lady one of his employees as she was working in one of the offices. I thought that was very unprofessional for him to walk up to her office and began a conversation that simply could of waited after hours. I’ve heard that he’s a good Dr and specializes with retina’s but to be unprofessional in your office. I did not return for my next visit.

Busy office. I was worked in due to a detached retina. Staff was friendly and gave me a good idea of what to prepare for during an expedited surgery the following day. Very professional experience from day 1 when I was diagnosed through 24 hour follow up on weekend, and 1 week followup. Next followup is 4 weeks after surgery. Dr Antaris is very thorough but doesn't encourage much conversation. I learned from the staff that Dr Antaris is a world re known expert on Spanish made firearms (Star, Astra, and competitors). He has published at least three books regarding his firearm passion.

2 1/2 hours wait. Two waiting rooms full. People in the hallway and sitting on the floor.

I have been very pleased with Dr. Antaris and his entire staff. They have been professional, friendly, and concerned. The staff who ran tests, took pictures, talked with me about my problem, etc. were very caring and thorough. Dr. Antaris took his time with me, was friendly and yet very professional. He knew I was nervous and was very supportive, as was the whole staff.

This is a very busy office. I was referred to this specialist because my dr. felt he was the best. He treated me and my problem was resolved. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I guess you will spend extra time if you want the best.

Dr. Antaris operated on my eye for a macular hole. I returned for check-ups 3 times, and each time he said my eye was swollen and he could not tell if the hole was repaired. He said to keep using eye drops and return in a month, which I did, and he kept saying come back in a month. After 3 times, I went to another retina specialist, who showed me a picture of the unrepaired hole on my first visit! She did surgery and repaired the hole, with only 5 days face down instead of 12, which Dr. Antaris recommended. I wasted a lot of time on him, which is crucial to a successful repair.

We waited 1 hour 25 minutes before we were called back for our appointment. The front desk (Debbie?) talked about family problems and disciplining her kid which the whole waiting room heard. She was also calling for claim status which is a HIPPA violation as again, the whole waiting room could hear the patients name, date of birth and appt. date. I was disappointed with that before I even got back to the doctor. Dr. Antaris was kind, but very fast. He gave us a lot of information in a very short period of time and before I knew it we were scheduling a appointment for laser surgery 2 days later. I wished they have us information to take home, I wish the doctor didnt chart and talk to us at the same time, as he was doing 2 things at once. I wasnt blown away by the care we received.
