Leon Reyfman, MD, FIPP, RPh, is a graduate of Ross University Medical School, where he received the prestigious Award of Academic Excellence. He completed his Internal Medicine internship at Maimonides Medical Center and went on to residency training in Anesthesiology with a focus on Pain Medicine at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in …Brooklyn, NY. To further refine his expertise in pain management, Dr. Reyfman was awarded a fellowship at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons/St. Luke’s–Roosevelt Hospital, where he honed skills in patient interaction, continuity of care, and multidisciplinary rehabilitation.
Dr. Reyfman is board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in both Anesthesiology and Pain Management and brings over a decade of experience in invasive and non-invasive pain therapies. As a certified addiction medicine specialist, he is licensed to treat opioid dependency with buprenorphine. He is the former Director of Interventional Pain Medicine at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, currently serves as Attending Physician at Mount Sinai Brooklyn Hospital, and is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Anesthesiology at SUNY Downstate Medical School.
An active member of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and the International Spine Intervention Society, Dr. Reyfman regularly lectures on pain management and substance-use treatment. His research and clinical work focus on safe, effective strategies to restore function and improve quality of life for patients suffering from acute and chronic pain.
