Dr. Lisa Marie Farhood, MD

I moved here for Texas and needed a new physician. Dr. Farhood was recommended to me by a friend. I felt very comfortable in her office and her staff were very nice and helpful. Dr. Farhood made me feel welcome and she explained things very thoroughly. I trust her medical decision making and I feel blessed to have found such a caring physician. I have a pretty complex medical history and have tried many approaches to manage my conditions. Unlike many primary care physicians I've encountered, Dr. Farhood took the time to really listen and evaluate what I was telling her and asked pertinent questions to get a thorough understanding before making her own unique recommendations for treatment and testing. I felt heard and I appreciated that a lot.

I have gone to her for several years, but the last few years the care has become less and less. Doesn't seem interested in the symptoms, will say that is normal and her treatment is eat more fiber or drink more water. The last time i would up in the ER with the same symptoms i told her about. Doesn't refer to specialist. If i have problems usually my heart doctor or lung doctor take care of them and refer me to appropriate m.d. I will be seeking another dr. and not go to her anymore.

The physician comes very highly recommended. I have seen the PA more than I have seen her. There is minimal follow-up and money is always the first issue.

I saw Dr Farhood a few weeks ago for the first time. She seemed like a nice person, office staff was kind, but when I tried to explain my history, she didn't seem interested in understanding that the symptoms I was explaining are not typical for me, and have been progressing. She seemed convinced from the start that my symptoms were normal for anyone, and were not connected in any way. I will not be returning to her office, and will be seeking a second opinion.

Dr. Farhood never seems to be in a hurry - I don't feel rushed. I have the opportunity to ask questions. When necessary, she has no qualms in referring to another specialty. She always calls with test results.

Doctor Farhood came highly recommended, and seems like a bright individual, but ultimately failed at the most basic duty as a doctor - helping patients get the care they need to get well. Problems include: staff changing or mis-scheduling appointments, referrals to specialists that never came, rushing through entire appointments, and perhaps most importantly, being impossible to reach and never returning phone calls (even after requesting follow-up).
