Dr. Lisha Fieler, MD

Although the Medical Assistant will call you back right away for your appointment, it is almost every appointment that I sit in the clinic room for more than an hour. This month I waited for 1 hr 35 minutes, only one time in the last 5+ years that I've seen her have I been seen within 30 minutes of my appointment time. At an appointment earlier this year she commented "All I see are crusty old people during most days, I should really break up my day with some pediatric patients." This upset me a lot, I realize that she is a sarcastic person, but this isn't something I wanted to hear from a doctor, and I wonder why she chose to be in this profession? She seems incredibly burnt out and overworked. She also tends to give a lot of worst case scenarios for issues (and then says "trust me you don't want it to be that diagnosis), which causes a lot of anxiety especially if it turns out you do have that problem. If you have a mychart account, don't expect to get calls from her office if you… have abnormal results, labs, or findings, they just expect you to check your mychart account. The one positive thing I will say is that once she is in the room with you she doesn't rush you. Perhaps part of the issue is insurance companies and hospitals pushing for their MDs to see more and more patients in a day within a shorter span of time and it is putting to much pressure on them? I have been with her practice at group health associates since I was an infant and saw the same physician from infancy to my early 20's and he was wonderful. I am now on the lookout for a new primary MD, because I can't take the long waits, off color comments, and the general insensitivity.

I'm not a very trusting person when it comes to the Drs in this day and age. They're always in a rush with their patients, herding them in and out like cattle and/or squeezing every last drop of benefits out of the patients insurance until the patient finds themselves in the proverbial doughnut hole....Thereby causing the patient undue stress worrying about how on earth they're ever going to afford either their co-payments and/or their medications for the remainder of the year. Dr Fieler took her time with me, because I believe she could sense I had a short fuse and am quite impatient when trying to explain things to Drs. She was patient and understanding with me and took the time to reassure me that we were going to get through my latest health crisis, which was a nasty case of the Shingles. True to her word and two months down the road, we got the issues I was having with the shingles.:under control. I trust her and so does my daughter, so much that when she moves to Ohio, she… plans to go to Dr Fieler.

My last Doctor was always over booked and slow (1 hour wait time). Dr. Fieler's office can always get me in, and I never had to wait more than 15 minutes. I have arthritis, and she was very helpful in explaining other treatment options down the road. She is a bit sarcastic, but I find humor refreshing and was joking around with her. So if you are a overly sensitive soul you may not like her bedside manner.
