Dr. Liv Gorla Schneider, MD

Dr. Schneider, joined the Pediatric Center in the fall of 2009. Dr. Schneider grew up in southern California and completed her undergraduate studies at Stanford University in 1996. During college, she developed a love for children's health issues and was honored with the Carol Guyer Award for Academic Achievement in Children and Society. She moved to Virginia to attend the Medical College of Virginia in 1998. During medical school, she received the Elizabeth J. Harbison Memorial Award for her accomplishments in pediatrics. Dr. Schneider remained at MCV to complete her pediatric residency and to serve as Chief Resident. In 2006, Dr. Schneider, a National Health Service Corps Scholar, and her family moved to Albany, Georgia to work in a medically underserved area. While in Albany, Dr. Schneider worked closely with medical students as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the Medical College of Georgia, and served as a community preceptor for the Family …Practice Residency of Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. She also volunteered her time as the the Pediatric Medical Advisor to the Lily Pad, a child abuse and sexual assault regional referral center. Dr. Schneider is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Schneider and her husband, Brian, are the happy parents of two young children.
