My friend had developed breast cancer prior to me getting it and she came by my home and told me the excellent care she received from Dr. Wu. I was able to be treated by Dr. Wu with my surgery and found her to be incredible. So grateful to her.

Botched breast reconstruction and diep flap and two unsuccessful revision surgeries. Blamed me for being overweight (I’m exactly 20lbs overweight) said that was the cause of my failed reconstruction. Shame on me for having two more surgeries with her to try to revise her botch job. I had to have three additional surgeries with a world class surgeon to restore the mess she made. I also would have preferred to click on no stars but had to click on at least 1 to submit this review.

Dr. Wu and all her associates and staff are at the top of their field. Each and every person I encountered along my breast cancer reconstruction journey were polite, knowledgeable, caring and experts in their field. My ONLY wish was that I met Dr. Wu earlier in my healthcare journey through breast cancer and all the aftermath, however, I was not living in the area. I will forever hold her, Samantha (her PA in her Bryn Mawr office), as well as ALL her ancillary staff that I have come to think of as family, in the deepest part of my heart always for giving me back my best possible appearance in the aftermath of and as a survivor of breast cancer. My sentiments extend to each and every member of the University of Pennsylvania team of nurses and assistants who cared for me as if I were one of their own. May God Bless you ALL!!

The reconstruction I received failed more than once.

I was in need of revision of reconstruction after a botched reconstruction job. Surgery went great and I looked wonderful. She did a fantastic job but I knew I was infected almost immediately. Her staff told me I wasn’t all the way back home and sent even though my pain was bad and I was out of the 20 pills she gave me for pain and I was running fevers. I was finally admitted at day 6 post op and was tachycardic and scared to death and horribly infected with pseudomonas.. Every question I asked I got a rehearsed answer, short, curt answer.. Ended up back in for a second stay a few weeks later with the same infection on the other side. During a procedure I should have been sedated for, they punctured my expander accidentally and never informed the doc so upon surgery two days later she went into it unaware of the severity. Instead of waiting for me to wake up, she called my husband. Upenn could care less about the pain and suffering that they caused me and for everything that… went wrong on their end, she took it out on me. Nurses didn’t care for her and that is a pretty good sign that I am not being sensitive. I wouldn’t recommend her for anything. She should reconsider her choice in profession as she has the worst personality and you have to at least act like you care. She took an oath and I don’t feel she took it seriously. Her way or the highway.

Dr Wu did reconstructive surgery following head/neck surgery for my husband. It was quite a complex undertaking but the outcome was excellent. He could not have had better care!

Saw Dr Wu about a year ago. She is the most arrogant, degrading, and egotistical physical I have ever encountered. When you are going through something as tough as I was, just a small amount of compassion should go hand and hand with her skill. And by the way her skill certainly isn't evident in my case. She rushed through my reconstruction and my breasts are far from what I thought I would have received. With all the wonderful surgeons out there..do your research. Wish I would have read these comments before ever stepping in her office.

Dr. Wu did an excellent job. I had a double mastectomy -Tram flap surgery. She and the entire staff at Penn are amazing. Dr. Wu listened to me and I always felt I could ask anything. They did an outstanding job and I couldn't be happier. I highly recommend Dr. Wu.

Dr. Wu doesn't come off as warm and fuzzy, but she is the most attentive, knowledgeable, involved doctor I have ever had. I trust Dr. Wu and would highly recommend her as a plastic surgeon. Dr. Wu's team is caring, knowledgeable, quick to follow up and 100 percent professional.

I can't believe the five star reviews are written about the same doctor I met. She has zero patience for questions, offers virtually no explanation except "trust me." There are no pictures of previous work in her office, no sample implants, no guidance, and warmth akin to Minnesota in January.
