Dr. Ramsey is very personable, and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend her to others.

Very understanding about which procedures there are to choose from and explained them. I am now understanding my choices and very pleased my surgery is going to be so soon.

Dr Ramsey did a cataract surgery on meShe was paid to do two eyes a week apart at the tune of 3100.00 an eye ! During the surgery he thinks he had little movement and she started yelling! She stormed out of the surgical area and say “I refuse to do your other eye” the next day I questioned what had happened and got response! I called again and was sent a letter told not to call again! As his records wete reviewed he ask why he didn’t get a card to show which eye! They the. Sent a card for the right eye but it was the left eye they operated on ! He called back and got the correct information for the left eye in a letter still not verbal explanation as to why the doctor cancelled the surgery! Upon reviewing a medication was used for the surgery and perhaps not the best choice for some people !! Research was done and found an outstanding doctor to do the other eye

When I scheduled for the appointment I specifically told the receptionist and then the eye tech who took both my husband and me in at the same time to be dilated and examined for glaucoma that I only needed a prescription for reading glasses. My husband on the other hand was near-sighted, so he would need to be tested a bit more than I would need to be. The tech who took us both in told us that we would both need to be dilated or Dr. Ramsey couldn't see us. My hubby hesitated because he had to go back to work, but we eventually agreed since we were already there. My eyesight for far-sightedness was 20/20, so I didn't have to go through most of the other eye tests my husband had to go through. By the time we saw Dr. Ramsey we were both pretty dilated. Now, here's where things being to get confusing and frustrating... I told Dr. Ramsey that I needed to get my eyes checked for reading glasses ONLY because my old prescription wasn't strong enough. I also told her about my two week old… surgery and that I was on pain medication. She asked me if I was on any other medications besides the ones given to me for the back surgery? I told her "no". So, she proceeded with the eye sight testing, but she kept mentioning that because my eyes were so dilated she couldn't give me a good analysis/report on my reading eyesight, but the testing continued on.. "One or two is better? Two or three is better?" I was confused about what she was doing and then telling me that none of this testing is accurate because I'm dilated. But all I could remember is that the tech said Dr. Ramsey couldn't see us if we weren't dilated. She then told me that all I needed was to go to CVS or Walgreens and buy one of their +1.75 or +2.0 reading glasses and I should be fine. I'm sorry.. What??? I told her I didn't understand.. then, why were we doing any of this testing with her and paying for her service if she couldn't test me for prescription eyeglasses? She said they don't make eyeglasses there. Then I asked her if she could just give me a prescription and this is where she lost her temper/patience with me. She said she is a "Surgeon" and that is one of the reasons she left the ophthamology clinic in Irving, Tx., because she hated doing eye testing. She is a "Surgeon" and that's what she loves to do and the only reason she is checking our vision today is because the other eye doctor at that office (optometrist) is off on Thursdays. I honestly was SHOCKED when she said that. This isn't the same person I remembered 1.5 years ago. I don't remember her being so high and mighty because she is a "Surgeon" that checking people's eye sight is so beneath her pay grade. She was so Egregious in her behavior toward me I was so disgusted and honestly shocked that I just got up and walked out with my husband. ð??? I do have to mention in her defense, that she did say I could come back after the dialation from my eyes wore out in a few weeks or so so that the optometrist who is normally there could test me again. I then asked with a puzzled look in my face "Then why am I here and why are we doing all this if you aren't able to check my eyes properly today for glasses?" She then rudely said she was tired of repeating herself to me, which is what she has been doing for the last 10 minutes. Excuse me?!?!? What??? (Remember, I just had back surgery and was on very heavy medication and she knew this when she lost her temper and raised her voice at me and chastised me like I was a two year old because I kept asking questions.) The truth of the matter was, because I was mistakenly dilated, even though I told the tech I didn't have problems seeing far, she couldn't check my farsightedness. She smugly then told me that I should be thankful I was dilated and not put through the same nearsighted tests my husband was put through due to him being Nearsighted because most of the time her clients that have 20/20 vision complain about having to pay the additional $100.00 even though they don't have to have these extended tests. She said the tech saved me $100.00 by not making me do those tests. Yes, I guess I should be grateful her tech didn't perform all those other vision tests that take advantage of stupid people like us who don't know any better and do wind up paying that extra $100.00 for tests they didn't have to have... I guess I should be grateful... so I thanked her for that because I am not a rude person. Then, she went on and told me I was really beginning to frustrate her because she is wasting so much time explaining the same situation to me repeatedly. She said she cannot remove the dilation from my eyes and she cannot explain things anymore clearer to me, then she looked at my poor husband and asked him if he understood what she was trying to explain to me and if he could explain it any better to me because she is done! UN-FREAKING-BELIEVABLE. I got up out of the exam chair, grabbed my walking cane (because of my back surgery I am considered a bit handicapped), grabbed my husband and we just left. My husband couldn't believe this woman either. The way she treated me. The way she treated me in front of him and her assistant! The way she told me I was frustrating her because I didn't understand why I had to come back to get another eye exam. The way she turned to my husband and asked him to explain it to me because she was done. First of all... I am the patient. If it took her hours to explain why her tech made the mistake of not telling me that by dilating my eyes I wouldn't be able to get a prescription for reading glasses, then she should have taken all day if needed to explain it until I fully understood... and then apologize to me. She never once apologized for anything. I found myself apologizing to her consistently. Even when I left the exam room I apologized for wasting he/their time.
