Dr. Lori L Reitman has the following 1 specialty
- Internal Medicine
An internist is a physician who focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of conditions that affect the adult population—both acute and chronic.
These doctors are often who adults see as their primary physicians because they treat a broad range of illnesses that do not require surgical or specialist interventions. They also work to help a patient maintain optimal health in order to prevent the onset of disease.
In addition to treating the common cold and flu, internists also treat chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease.

Dr. Lori Reitman was my primary care physician for a few years. Then I was sick for a few months and had lost the ability to walk, and lost 30 pounds. I also had red dots on both my legs. I begged her to give me a referral so I could see a specialist. She refused, saying that if I lost a few more pounds then maybe she would. Less than a week later I almost died from a spleen infarction due to an undiagnosed blood infection. I also ended up having emergency mitral valve repair.
I had seen Dr. Reitman for about a year, until I decided it was time to find a new physician. Although she is very knowledgeable, she has extremely poor bedside manner and also has poor follow up. The times I had seen her, she treated my appointments as if they were a bother to her day, she would come in make her diagnosis, and is not very sensitive. She likes to take charge and give her recommendation and leave. She is not a good listener, and she does not allow follow appointments (for x-ray results, lab results), she will just send a note in the mail with results. She also doesn't do a good job about having you follow up with her on issues like high cholesterol. She prescribed me one medicine, and then didn't have me come back on a yearly basis. Her goal is to see her patients and go home.
An appointment was scheduled for me with Dr. Reitman because my regular internist was unavailable. I'd been having some symptoms that basically had me feeling pretty crummy, which, in turn, made me anxious. I waited an unconscionable amount of time for Dr. Reitman to get to me and when she did, I felt like I was more of an inconvenience to her. She took none of my symptoms seriously, gave me a lab order and left. I had to wait an additional 15 minutes for a nurse to come back and tell me that the lab was closed for the day. As a patient, I look for a healthcare professional who can put me at ease. Dr. Reitman made me feel like a nuisance and only exacerbated my anxiety.
