Dr. Louis Leon Pisters, MD

Dr Pisters is an excellent doctor and compassionate man. He is easy to talk to and explains the issues, the prognosis and procedure in terms patients understand. Thank you Dr Pisters.

Our experience was similar to that of the 1 star post made on January 27th, 2016. Dr. Pisters makes a shocking statement like "I believe in the absence of surgery, you're going to die from this" and then fails to explain the reasons / rationale. We were also steered toward surgery and a "protocol" which was his code word for a clinical study - one that we would seemingly obtain no personal treatment benefit from. We were steered to surgery (and this clinical study) even though there was a 50% likelihood that we'd need radiation afterwards. Either he has a communication deficiency, or is too arrogant to explain details to patients. Not sure which. But either way, his patient-relationship skills are sorely lacking. (I've heard he is one of *the best* prostate surgeons and can do post-RT salvage RRP surgery.) Plus, about a 2 hr and 45 min wait to see him as a 'new patient'. Terrible experience. The "fellow" understudy Dr. sounded like he was dryly quoting a textbook - no… personality, no empathy.

Dr. pisters was rude , lacked good bedside manner. He tried to force surgery on me. When I talked about other options his reponse to me was who cares. I called m.d. anderson on him, no one seem to be interested in my concerns, shiftng my call from person to person.It has been 4 months now, and no one at m.d. anderson, will lend an ear. dr pisters, I wouldn't recommend to anyone, never! I asked him how much time I had to make a decision, he said about 2 months. I believe he was still trying to force surgery on me.

Dr. Pisters was highly recommended from numerous sources to perform my radical prostatectomy. He and his team treated me with the highest level of professionalism and the outcome of my robotic surgery was very successful. I would highly recommend Dr. Pisters and not hesitate to use him in the future (although I hope I'm not in need of any more surgeries)

He really cares and takes time to get know his patients. He is god fearing man.

He is the kindest doctor I have ever met.
