Dr. Louisa Vanfung Lavy

Dr. Lavy is a very intelligent woman. She is also a poor listener and poor communicator who does not adjust to the pt needs. I sought her help for restless legs syndrome (rls) and cognitive issues including memory loss. She told me she had “no non pharmaceutical options” which i found very limiting. During a phone conversation she rudely refused to repeat some important information I had forgotten. The referral she gave me was useless. Her nurse, Betty, is under educated, condescending and virtually hung up on me. Dr. Lavy’s note taking assistant fell asleep during an office visit. Dr. Lavy was completely unaware of a basic lab test i required. She is so myopic toward her sub speciality she undermines her vast knowledge as a doctor.

Dr. Lavy is very attentive and takes plenty of time to listen and explain treatment options and side effects associated with each option. She spent over an hour with my wife and I discussing my case symptoms and any concerns we had. Negatives associated with her office are that it is very difficult to get an appointment. The time between appointments can be six to nine months and the staff is not very proficient following up on Dr. Lavy's orders. I ran out of a seizure medication and it took several weeks to resolve this issue. If the staff was better with follow up and returning calls Dr. Lavy would receive a 4 star rating.
