Dr. Schmeltz is a good as it gets. Talks to you like a person not just a patient. His care is the very best of the very best. He'll give you options, and explain you to you what's working for you. He takes the time to discuss options and ideas, and wants to hear what is working for you. I very much appreciate the life goals he's helped me to achieve.

I love Dr. Schmeltz and his assistant Ashley. They always take good care of me. They are both very pleasant. Dr. Schmeltz has help me manage my condition for years. I am always grateful of his help. He stays abreast to the best combination and medication that will better assist me.

I've been a T-1 Diabetic since i was three years old. During my almost 40 years with this horrible disease, I haven't controlled it very well. Dr. Schmeltz got my A1C down to a 6.7 (I was around a 9.5 when I started seeing him). I see people give him one star reviews because he is "Smug" or "Arrogant" and when i first saw him I thought that too. Now I realize he wasn't, he cares about people and tells it the way it is. Some people don't want to hear the truth so they get mad. Thanks to his office, my Diabetes is under better control and I hope to get it controlled even better.

After I left his office I sat in my car and cried. Such a mean man and I wanted to call back and get my $25 copay refunded. Does anyone know where to complain about him to the State of Michigan Medical Board? I fear he is harmful to other patients and also he orders unnecessary tests to overcharge people

The genuine kindness and caring that Dr. Schmeltz shows is noteworthy. He and his office staff are always accommodating towards his patients. He is extremely knowledgeable about medications when treating my diabetes and I am confident in his care. I would definitely recommend Dr. Schmeltz to family and friends.

An empty waiting room should be a clue that this guy isn't in high demand. I have never written a doctor review before but I couldn't wait to write one about him. I wonder if I can demand my money back? He's useless!

I have been to this office twice the second time was by accident. When the nurse told me I was there before with Dr Eldeson I was horrified I went through with the appointment with Dr Smeltz. The first time I was in Eldesons office for 5 minutes and he laughed at me when I complained about not feeling well with hashimotos my husband was in the room for absolutely the worst doctor I’ve ever encountered! So I did raise concerns with the nurse to just leave so that was relayed to him. It was obvious because as he sits down he makes sure to tell me he’s not a holistic doctor. I wasn’t in the market for a holistic doctor I was in search of a doctor that cares and keeps up on information on autoimmune conditions that he is supposed to specialize in. The appointment was terrible of course and left that office crying again. He did apologize for the first experience I had but he did at least entertain me. When he told me several times he will only check my T4 no free T3 or 4 which my family doctor does every 3 months shocked. Now I am not in the blame game there are things that I am doing to harm myself I do not blame the doctors for that but I do expect a doctor to be knowledgeable say about which diet I should look to. I finally get to a functional doctor U of M Ann Arbor M.D. doctor and I have and hour appointment with him and my insurance did cover it he told me to google anti inflammatory Mediterranean diet to guide me somewhere it is under endocrine.web with research behind it for people that are struggling. And through my appointment the M.D. knew the author of books that I was reading. I want people to know there are doctors out here that care and I hope Smeltz reads this and tries to become a more informed doctor he could help people change their lives I believe that is what a great doctor wants to do.

Best Doctor I have been to, Kind, caring and willing to make sure you are living a healthy life as a diabetic.

His compassion was heart warming. I had a high blood pressure issue when I was there. His attitude in regards to my high B.P. was very caring. He treated me, like a human being, not a number on a "chart." I feel very confident in him taking care of my health problem. I'm in my 70's. barb S.

I was referred to Dr. Schmeltz by my internist and was wary because I read a scathing review of him on this website. I decided to go anyways because I didn't care if I didn't love him. I just wanted a doctor who knew his "stuff". He put me at ease right away. He was very nice and smart and spent a lot of time with me. He definitely knows his "stuff". I would highly recommend him.
