Dr. Lukas Peter Zebala, MD

Worst surgeon in Missouri!! His staff is cranky, he has terrible bedside manor. Tore my dura during surgery for a nice two day migraine after a back surgery and then I was given half the amount of pain meds that I was supposed to be given. Never Again, you to can roll the dice but, not with this character.

As others have said worst doctor ever if there is even a doubt in his mind about what's troubling you. Will tell you to leave and get injections and could care less. Seriously. I have seen dentists and doctors all my life and this guy is definitely the worst. Says to me spine and discs looks fine (even though my sportsmed doc says I have disc issue). Whats causing the pain I say? He says and I quote "I have no idea". Thanks captain obvious I could have told you that but your the one getting paid. I should have walked right there. Take the time to find someone else.

After consultation and a new mri Dr. Zebala said “I am very confident this will work”. Well it did not work and actually got worse. In a follow up visit it was well that’s all we can do. Very very disappointing.

DO NOT USE THIS SURGEON! HE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT HIS PATIENTS JUST MAKING MONEY OFF OF SURGERY!

Dr. Zebala is the best. I had severe stenosis and cyst growing into one area. He did a compression, fusion, removed the cyst and I have had great results. When this all started, my foot had dropped causing me to fall and horrible burning down my entire leg. I won't be hiking yet but I'm looking forward to next fall. Dr. Zavala is the best.

I went to Dr Zebala for two multi-level fusions. He and his assistant Kelli Jo are very good at helping you through the process, and very supportive after. I never had any issues with the care I received. I had two earlier back surgeries by another Dr, and he wasn't near the surgeon Dr Zebala is.

Excellent care! Dr. Zebala is a highly skilled doctor who has made my life so much better. Before I had severe burning down my whole leg and my foot dropped so I could hardly walk and had issues with my bladder from the nerves involved. He removed a cyst, fused, decompressed the nerves and placed in the appropriate hardware. I have total confidence in Dr. Zebala and would highly recommend

Went to see him after I had exhausted all options through an Ortho Doctor and he referred me to Dr. Zebala . Was having deep buttock, hip and leg pain. It is to the point I can hardly stand or walk for more than 10 minutes. He took an x-ray, told me I have a herniated disc, which I had already knew and told me to go through another set of injections. He was very short with me and seemed to not care the kind of pain I was having. He didn't even examine me. He just got up and walked out the room. This was my 5th injection 4 in the nerve 1 in the facet joint. He said if the injections work then he could determine he was in the right location and could do surgery. Called him back 3 weeks after the injection to let him know I was still in severe pain. I had left him a message to call me in regard to this. He never called and just had his assistant call to tell me if the injection didn't work he cannot operate and to go somewhere else . But he is supposed to be this highly… accredited Doctor that specializes with nerve, diseases of the spine, tumors, what have you. And you are going to turn me away because your stupid injection didn't work. I called back again for him to call me not his assistant and I received nothing, no phone call from him, nothing. Now after being in excruciating pain for more than 9 months I am back to square one. I would not recommend him to anyone. The worst Doctor ever.

Dr. Zebala gave me my life back. I have had horrible pain for 2 months, due to a herniated disc at L5-S1. I couldn't sit very long or sleep for more than 2 hours at a time. I would be up all night in excruciating pain. Couldn't see him right away because of all the hoops you have to go through before you see a surgeon. Insurance wants you to exhaust all other avenues before surgery, such as Physical therapy, narcotics, steroid injections, etc. When I finally was able to get a consultation with him, I felt so desperate that nothing was going to help. He was so reassuring that if I had this procedure done I would no longer have this debilitating pain. Today is the morning after my Microdiscectomy. My back is sore from the surgery, but I am not having the pain that I had for 2 months. Its gone, and I cannot believe it. For 2 months I would average 3 hours of sleep a night, and last night I slept pain free. I highly recommend this Doctor and will always feel that I owe him one for… this.

Went to Dr. Zebala in hopes of finding a resolve of back pain and other problems. The only good part of this office was that the front staff was polite. Once we went back that changed. The nurse made inappropriate and judgmental comments and the Dr. himself seemed as if he didn't care at all. He was in and out in as rushed a manner as possible. When we tried to ask questions he seemed almost annoyed by it. He would answer but just sort of gave a lot of shrugs and non-answers. I found out more about my condition online than during our visit. The only time he ever showed any interest in me or my pain was when he was discussing a very invasive surgery - but the moment he realized I wanted to avoid surgery if at all possible I might as well have been trash for as quick as he dismissed us. I left his office feeling less sure of what was wrong than when I went in. I was far from comfortable and will definitely have to now seek a second opinion. I would not recommend this doctor at… all.
