Lynn Ann Hawkins, MD

My son has been seeing Dr. Hawkins for almost a year. Overall my experience has been positive with the exception of the long waits at times to be seen. I did notice though that at the follow up visits, all she seems to do is a lot of typing on her keyboard in complete silence; while I'm trying to get answers to my questions. Additionally, her assistant leaves a lot to be desired as far as being efficient and good manners.

My children have been seeing Dr. Hawkins for several years. For the past 2 or 3 years, she does nothing but type on her keyboard in the exam room, rarely looking up. I no longer get the sense that she is actually "hearing" us or actively caring about what she's being told. In addition to that, you can always count on a very long spell of waiting before she sees you. On one occasion I had a 9.45 appointment for my son, which I took him out of school for. We waited for an hour, after the allotted time. Even the receptionists were getting uncomfortable. Eventually when I asked one of them if she had even come in yet, she gave me a kind of non-committal, embarrassed answer. At 10.50 when we were finally seen, she didn't offer a single word of apology for being so late. I've been considering switching pediatricians for some time, but I'm going to do it now. I don't think there's any insurance they don't accept, and as a result, the waiting room often resembles a free clinic.

My son saw dr Hawkins for five years. He had a growth deficiency and a condition called cah .. She was wonderful. She has great bed side manners and takes her time with you. She helped my son tremendously. He is now 18 and 5' 8" With out her help he would've been about 5'3". So we are so happy. We went to dr kriezer first and she wanted him on a hydrocortisone Which she never tested his growth hormone levels. So if I didn't persist of a gh test. He would've went on hydrocortisone and it would've stunted his growth more. I went to another dr in jersey and he gave me his opinion and how to treat him. Dr Hawkins was on the same page and I went with it. Great dr and I recommend her to all my friends if there is an issue
