Dr. Madhuri Latha Koganti, MD

Both of my visits I had to wait for more than 40 min for Dr. Koganti. When she got into the room she only talked for 10 min and tried to leave the room. I understand she has been busy but there is much improvement for her bedside manner and time management. When I was trying to ask a quick question her answer was very brief and seemed like could not wait to end the visit. I was put on some medication that more expensive than my previous ones. The new medication she recommended was not effective but she still insisted me to take the new medication because she believed that should work better.

Getting an initial appointment was an unpleasant experience. Followed recorded prompts, which didn’t work. Fifth try finally got to speak to a live person. That was was equally an ordeal. I wasn’t at all impressed with the person who took me back to the exam room. Not at all friendly. She had to use a automated blood pressure machine. If you can’t take blood pressure the real way, then I’m not impressed. Dr. Kognati. Not particularly friendly. She may very well be knowledgeable, but certainly poor bedside manner. Informed me I had Parkinson’s by her initial physical exam. Very matter of fact & unfeeling. Ordered lots of blood work & an MRI & a follow up visit. She nor her staff are right for me. I want a doctor who at least acts like them have some empathy for the diagnosis. Didn’t get that, Not going back.

She ran multiple blood tests and MRI, all came back clear. Because of that, she basically dismissed me from there to go see another doctor. She wouldn’t do any further testing and only wanted to hear my current symptoms, even though I was still feeling very ill and needed more tests run to diagnose or rule out potential issues. Her medical assistant didn’t even know how to read a blood pressure monitor. When I asked her to explain what the difference was between the top and bottom number, she said she didn’t know.

My friend could have been paralyzed had she stuck with this doctor. Dr Koganti would not listen to anything my friend had to say. My friend was having neck pain and woke up one morning and could not walk right. She had numbness and tingling down arms and legs. Could not grip anything in hands, could not lift arms up above shoulders. This doctor told her she needed an orthopedic doctor. Luckily my friend found another Neurologist and he did a spinal cord MRI and come to find out, she had c3-c4 vertebra ruptured and was compressing the spinal cord. The doctor had to send her to a spinal cord surgeon and he had to do emergency surgery the very next day. He told her that if she was to fall or have a minor accident she would be paralyzed.

Overall had a great experience, she is very knowledgeable!
