Dr. Maged Aziz Tanios, MD

Dr. Maged Tanios is Chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. Board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine and Sleep Medicine, Dr. Tanios has been practicing in Long Beach since 2004.

Dr. Tanios completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Mich., followed by fellowships in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and Sleep Medicine at Tufts-New England Medical Center in Boston. During his fellowship, he received his masters in public health in Health Care Management and Policy. He served as Associate Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Tufts University.

Dr. Tanios is a fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, a member of the Long Beach Memorial Medical Center Board of Trustees, a member of the pulmonary and critical care Best Practice Team for Long Beach Memorial and an expert medical reviewer for the Medical Board of …California. He has served on the Memorial Health System Academic Advisory Council and as co-director of the Long Beach Memorial Critical Care Symposium. Dr. Tanios also is the recipient of multiple awards and grants, including recognition from the American Lung Association and funding from the National Institutes of Health.

When not caring for critically ill patients or teaching, Dr. Tanios enjoys living the Southern California lifestyle with his wife Hanan and their children Natalie and Michael.
