I am a Clinical Psychologist with 20+ years of experience in various settings, including many years in private practice in NYC. I work with adults (18+) and couples of diverse backgrounds, presenting various issues, including anxiety, depression, relationship and career struggles, women’s issues, and trauma. I have a special interest in working with psychological, social, and couples’ issues involved in reproductive health, as well as in the areas of career planning, job transitions, and executive coaching.
I am a warm, patient-centered therapist who utilizes several psychological orientations to inform my work, including psychoanalytic and cognitive-behavioral theories. I am invested in helping individuals and couples …more effectively cope with psychological symptoms arising from everyday and significant life challenges and transitions by balancing insight with practical solutions. My goal is to identify creative and valuable insights and perspectives that can lead to productive changes in behavior within a supportive therapeutic environment.
My particular interest in reproductive trauma (pregnancy loss, infertility, stillbirth) is informed by conducting research and treating patients in this area over many years. While women (as well as many non-binary trans-persons) essentially bear the burden of pregnancy and the potential complications that can be associated with it, reproductive struggles can also affect couples and families in profound ways. These dynamics can often be challenging given the differences in how reproductive issues are experienced by each partner and within a larger family unit.
I have also spent many years consulting with organizations in areas such as leadership development, executive coaching, and career transition assessment. This aspect of my career has proven invaluable to my work as a therapist, as it has given me both insight and perspective on how traditional corporations operate from the inside and how that compares to startups, creative enterprises, and family-run businesses. These issues can be critical, as our identities, self-esteem, relationship building, and motivations are revealed clearly through the lens of our professional lives.
Lastly, I genuinely enjoy providing clinical supervision to train candidates for psychology, social work, and mental health counseling. I am committed to teaching fundamentals to others who are as passionate about the work as I am. I value how challenging it can be as we develop our professional confidence and skills. In supervision, we will focus on all aspects of the therapeutic relationship between the supervisee and patient, evaluating the best interventions in the short term, as well as monitoring the larger trajectory of the process as the therapy progresses. We will also focus on the supervisee's perspective and responses to treating individuals/couples and how those experiences contribute to their professional development.
I encourage you to contact me to discuss possibly beginning individual or couples therapy or supervision.

Our Services
Psychotherapy
We provide individual, couples, family and group psychotherapy depending on your needs. We can combine psychotherapies to address the complexities of the issues you bring to treatment. Like all mental health services, Psychotherapy is best done through a warm, trusting and empathic relationship with a professional who is well trained to address your needs.. Psychotherapy can offer insight, new skills and perspectives, validation and support, as well as challenges to entrenched patterns of behavior and internalized messages that may have once been adaptive but may now have become self-defeating and limiting - most importantly psychotherapy primarily relies on a healing relationship to a clinician who hears you, supports you, and encourages you to take risks and grow into your best self - one that is more authentic, more fully alive to yourself and others.
Psychiatry
Our psychiatrists are available for medication management as a stand alone service, and they also work collaboratively with our psychotherapists as part of the same team, sharing information and communicating easily to provide the best possible care. This coordinated approach combines psychotherapy and medication to effectively address emotional regulation, symptom relief and neuroplasticity, all contributing to positive change and overall well-being.
Psychological and Neuropsychological Assessment
Testing and Assessment Services are available for infants (2.5 yrs and above), children, adults, and seniors. By working with you to develop individualized and tailored assessment plans, our experts in assessment services, mostly psychologists, can help you understand both your unique strengths and challenges to better focus care, and help you obtain appropriate services and accommodations on your road to success. Some of the most common assessments we offer include those for ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, academic and learning disabilities, memory, personality assessment and IQ testing.
Money Matters
At Bryant West Psychology, we recognize that money is often deeply entwined with emotional issues around power, control, value and worth, among others. Given that fact, we encourage you to discuss issues of fee, missed appointment charges and the like directly with your therapist. We are transparent about our fees and we accept all insurances (except Medicare and Medicaid). Our Psychotherapy and Psychiatric services are in network for most Aetna plans, as well as Columbia, NYU, Fordham, and New School Student Health Plans. Most of our Assessment Services are billed out-of-network. Whether you have insurance or not, we will work with you to set a fee that meets your financial needs as well as our own. If we are not able to do that we will suggest alternative treatment in the community.
I look forward to working with you.
