Dr. Joseph J. DeRose, Jr., graduated Summa Cum Laude from Georgetown University where he earned the Chapman Medal for the most outstanding student in Biology. He completed his MD degree at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and received the Whipple award for the most outstanding student in Surgery. Dr. DeRose completed his General Surgery Residency at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center and received the Blakemore Prize for Research upon graduation.
