He doesn't seem to pay attention when you tell him about your pain, looks at his computer and types while you are speaking. Seems more concerned about getting urinalysis for $1000.00 each visit!!!!!!! Will not write script for pain meds at the same visit that you may get an injection, forcing you to pay for TWO office visits!!!
Doctor is all right ,, but his staff could use professional training. Receptionist acts like you are bothering her by showing up. If you need refills on your meds, good luck. If you call the office, good luck getting a person to talk to. They don't like to answer the phone. And when the doctor does get around to writing your refill, don't expect to get a call, it will sit there a couple days first. Absolutely the worst medical staff that I have come across in 60 years. I wouldn't be surprised if the entire office staff had no medical training. Everything about the office and staff is low-budget, not very professional at all. But don't expect any discount , the savings are not passed to you. Do yourself a favor and find a different pain management clinic, you don't need the games this office plays.
Dr. Gunapooti's office is so many things. Great is not one in the vocabulary. Wait time on average is between 25 minutes to 2+ hours. Therefore the promptness is out the window. His staff is notoriously rude ALL the time! Especially if you get the girl in charge, Megan. I cannot imagine how someone can enjoy that job and be so miserable all the time. It affects the other employee's and I have noticed quite a complete turnover in the last couple years. The diagnosis' that I received were a handful and with my new doctor I am finding out some of these may have been untrue. He makes a LOT of money off of the injections of which are not done correctly in my opinion. They are a HUGE waste of time and money and you will end up being in even more pain after the lidocaine wears off. Cortisone is not always the way to go. There are areas of the body that can be treated without always going through the spinal column. There are trigger point injections which are helpful as well as physical therapy to help you. When he finally enters the exam room his nose is already in his I-Pad. He will continually ask the same questions over and over again and I swear he doesn't note any of it which is infuriating that he doesn't listen whatsoever. At times you will express your concerns and he hasn't heard a word. Basically, at this point, he is your classic pill pusher. When you express that the current meds are not helping he will either increase the dose or put you on something completely not for you. If you are wanting to try a different med and he hasn't suggested it, good luck trying to find something that works on your terms. I am sure at one point he was a great doctor... I see that in him that he has tried in some form but that doctor is no longer the same person. Surely, with all the folks that fake pain this doc must have turned a corner and just gave up on himself. My suggestion to the dr is FIRE YOUR STAFF and start over fresh and really invest the time and energy in each patient. Get your head out of the I-pad and actually take physical notes and enter them in the computer later like most docs do. Really LISTEN to your patients and their needs and not play guessing games with peoples health. good luck!
His bedside manner really stinks, but the main problem is after i am out of my medication and it is due for refill, it takes forever(while i am in pain) to get the doctor to phone it into Walgreens. I mean come on its been over a week and i have talked to the receptionist and she says "Hes recived it but never called it in." Ok that tells me he dose not care about the pain i am in at all. Not a good doctor at all! Also good luck calling them for they have multipal offices, and when you do get through good luck even explaining you need your medicane, they blow you off. So hey when he gets around too picking up a phone just to say "ok it's approved" OMG that's really hard . If the roles where reversed he would be the one in pain and mad like me.
Dr, Gunapooti did not help me and may have further injured me by giving me cortozone and I continued to work. My condition is disableing now and he will not put in the records anything that will help me get benefits. He is in this profession for finacial reasons. His success record is non exsistant!
