Dr. Manan Balkrishna Shah, MD

The staff was amazing and may have been the best experience I’ve ever had in healthcare. Unfortunately my procedure has to be redone but the silver lining is I know I’ll be well taken care of. Thx All.

I have been with Dr Shah for a long time and I plain to stay with him until he left practice or when God called me. My visits with him are always a blessing, always satisfy with his advice regarding my health.

I had a recent endoscopy procedure with Dr. Shah, and it was an excellent experience. The procedure was reviewed in detail as well as possible treatment that could be performed during the endoscopy. The procedure was on time (he was actually running ahead of his schedule), and I felt well afterwards. The findings, results, and next steps were explained thoroughly. Dr. Shah and all of his staff were kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. I really appreciate the excellent care I received.

Wasn’t happy with him. He wasn’t very attentive or caring when I was literally BLEEDING, you have to see his NP in emergencies and for routine visits, very serious in the appointment I had, has a scribe in the appt so there’s no privacy, phone calls go to the secretary/NP, and the messaging system on MyChart is through the front secretary NOT him. The whole office knows your issues since its a loop around to get to him. Makes me wonder what he actually does if everything is through everyone else? He wouldn’t allow fluids during my infusions because “they’re not necessary” so I got horrible headaches, exhaustion, and weakness after the two I went to. It took months for my previous gi and I to find a solution and Dr. Shah just didn’t care. When I told the scheduler I’m leaving the office, she could care less as well. Hoping to find a new GI before the next infusion ?????? Risking a flare just so I don’t have to go back to these cold-hearted people. Not sure what people like about him.

After multiple meetings with Dr. Shah, I changed gastroenterologists. What needed to occur, but never did with Dr. Shah, immediately took place with my new GI at Emory. I find it egregious to simply tell a patient who has noted his symptoms for some time and finally self-diagnosed himself with lactose intolerance and IBS that "a lot of people have that." Yet this was Dr. Shah's response. My doctor at Emory listened and immediately came up with a dietary solution (no prescriptions required unlike Sr. Shah's approach) that has already been a godsend in relief over the past six weeks. Understandably, I'm grateful to have a working plan and a brilliant new gastroenterologist. Sorry I spent the time with Dr. Shah. Admittedly, he has a great rapport with his patients but the diagnostics, in my experience, are seriously lacking.

Great Dr he is very caring and listens to what the patient is saying and very knowledgeable on different issues

Dr Shah is one of the rare doctors that actually listens carefully to your symptoms and concerns. He's an excellent doctor, very smart and compassionate and I feel very thankful that he was recommended to me. I trust him completely.

People go to Drs. for help not insensitivity and dead ends.

Let's face it, no one really wants to have a colonoscopy. I delayed it for several years because I was scared. I was having a little blood here and there and figured it was just hemorrhoids. After my internist pleaded for me to get screened,I agreed to an office visit. I instantly felt comfortable. He listened to what I had to say and addressed all of my concerns. He had this very calming but confident manner about him, and you could see it in his eyes that he really cared. He got me in right away. I had the colonoscopy, and turns out I had a very large polyp which was going to become a cancer. I am so grateful that he walked me through everything and out me at ease. He is extremely bright and compassionate and I owe my life to him.

I was thoroughly impressed by Dr. Shah. His bedside manner is just fantastic. He listens, he explains, he understands, and he teaches. I felt so comfortable with what he said. And his credentials are amazing!
