Dr. Margaret Elizabeth Hood, MD

Margaret Hood, MD, FAAP is an attending physician at Seattle Childrens Hospital and clinical associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine. Dr. Maggie earned her MD and completed her pediatric residency from the University of Florida College of Medicine and Department of Pediatrics. Her career has spanned pediatric emergency medicine, inpatient pediatrics and now complex pediatric care with a palliative medicine approach. She served as director of Tacoma site WWAMI medical clerkship 2004-2007 and as co-director of the Inpatient Service at Mary Bridge Childrens Hospital from 1998-2005. During that time she became interested in pediatric palliative medicine, and in 2008, graduated from the Program in Palliative Care Education and Practice at Harvard Medical School Center for Palliative Care. In 2009, she achieved American Board of Medical Specialties certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Clinically, she is involved in …resident and medical student education through bedside and didactic teaching as an attending on the inpatient medically complex child team. She is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics Section of Hospital Medicine and of the executive committee of the American Academy of Pediatrics Section of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
