I was seen by Dr. Tompsett in 1991 after my grandmother, my primary caregiver, passed away. Dr. Tompsett was the first person to diagnose me; her work identified ADD. Unfortunately, back then, we didn’t understand CPTSD or what ADHD truly entails. Gabor Maté, a psychologist specializing in ADHD, has recently shed light on this distinction.
