Dr. Margie Louise Jaworski, MD

Dr. Jaworski went above and beyond to accurately diagnose my children and I (when no one else could). She testified for my SSDI hearing and I won in large part because of her testimony.

From the front desk staff to the check out staff everyone was helpful and kind. Dr. Jaworski spent a good deal of time with me and really made sure I understood my diagnosis. She, along with my genetic counselor, answered all of my questions intelligently.

After diagnosing me with a genetic condition, I returned to Dr. Jaworski with my children at a later date. Dr. Jaworski *never* took a medical history of their father or his side of the family despite my numerously repeated concerns that a potentially similar condition could be on his side of the family because of some significant information we'd discovered. So she diagnosed one daughter with a condition without considering all of the possible differential diagnoses! She only has the information in her hands now because I insisted she take the typed history I had with me, but to the best of my knowledge, she never read it. (Our pediatrician was aghast.) Dr. Jaworski was "unfamiliar" (her exact word) with a second diagnostic tool (for the condition with which she diagnosed me) that has been in use since 2000. Even our pediatrician was familiar with the criteria and was flabbergasted that the geneticist was not. Finally, Dr. Jaworski suggested that one of my children (instead of… perhaps having such a mild form of this disorder she could not be diagnosed at this time) has a never-been-diagnosed (though she's a teen) pervasive developmental disorder. Our pediatrician was astounded that any doctor would make such a "snap judgment" (our pediatrician's exact phrase) about any child in such a short period of time in such a distractible and high-stress situation...*and* our pediatrician has *never* considered such about our daughter, and we've been using this practice for well more than a decade.I wasn't displeased with Dr. Jaworski after my first visit, though I wasn't overly impressed either. She seemed overly clinical and not especially personable (I rather felt like a lab rat), but I was seeing her for a one-time diagnosis, not an ongoing patient-doctor relationship like with a GP.I now consider all three of our visits to have been wastes of time, money, and energy as we can't trust her knowledge base (doesn't know about a criteria that's been around for more than a decade?) let alone her clinical or diagnostic skills. To have diagnosed a child as having, and another as not having, a condition which is based on clinical presentation *and* family history without knowing half of the children's family history is, in my opinion, unconscionable.
