Dr. Marie Ann Mcdonald, MD

I’ve only seen this doc 2x now but she absolutely has no business being around children. Both visits involved checking inside the diaper and she just dove in, both times, without consent. Depending on your parenting style this may or may not be a no-no for you, but both my children were visibly uncomfortable and it was infuriating. A practitioner in this day and age should 100% know better. The unfortunate part is she prides herself on being “old school” however old school practices should in no way, shape or form should include violating the patient. Without being graphic, she explains issues she uses terms that are inappropriate to describe babies/toddlers. The word “luscious” was thrown around several times when describing my toddler and the gynecological issue she was dealing with. Now even without the context, it’s just inappropriate and I was disturbed to say the least. She also fails to allow parents to parent their children during visits and blows right through her… inadequate explanation of the problem/issue when she’s fully aware the directions are not being received or heard. And when asked questions she answers in circles providing little to no helpful information. To add the cherry on top, she cannot even manage to send prescriptions to the pharmacy. I had to contact the office after several days to see why I’d not received any notices about the prescription being ready and apart it’s a habitual issue they run into with her. Quite frankly I’m not sure how she’s still practicing. Please do not let her near your children. She is one of the most careless practitioners I’ve ever encountered.

I highly recommend Dr. McDonald. She has been my childrens pediatrician since birth, Now Christie is a 17 year old amazing girl, and David my son, who has Autism is a wonderful boy. She diagnosed My Daughters Kidney issues as a baby and knew the proper test that needed to be done, when a specialist didn't. She assisted me with different treatment I wanted to do to help better my son. I can list much more. I was very happy to have her as my childrens pediatrician, and my children love her as their doctor. She is very intelligent and a well rounded doctor.

We saw Dr. McDonald the other day. She was preoccupied with answering her cell phone during our visit and faxing some forms over. We were told she was moving to another location but she was unwilling to share her new practice location-wonder why?? At her very best she was in a hurry to get the visit over with and at her worst she actually told us that she didn't really care as she was leaving. She should never have become a doctor in the first place if this is her attitude!! don't waste your time and money or risk your child's health by going to this doctor ever-beware!!!!

So Dr. Mcdonald is moving YET again and the office does not know where she is going!!! This doctor needs to be investigated. She first shut down her practice in Rochester without notifying patients, then moved to Lake Orion, then Waterford, then Bloomfield and now she moves again.... What is going on??? She always seems pre-occupied with her personal issues, keeps us waiting over an hour and is dismissive of our concerns. TIME TO MOVE ON.....

This egoistic doctor is now in Bloomfield Pediatrics which is the worst practice around.

She was great. Then she closed her medical office without notifying any patients. She moved to Lake Orion but every time you want to see her you will get another doctor and not her. I am looking to change my doctor right now. Everything is horrible since her move. She used to spend time, give a lot of info. Now everything is short and I am better off wikipedia but I need prescriptions.

Dr McDonald closed the practice in Rochester Hills without notifying her patients. When I called for an appointment for my daughter I received the "this number is no longer in service" message. She had been my daughters' doctor for nearly eight years and I expect better treatment as a customer than that. I also went by the office and it is unoccupied although the sign is still there.

She closes her office, notifies no one, and won't release the records unless you pay for them. She does not care about the care of our children. She has "her own worries, and cannot worry about what my daughter is going through right now". Honestly, that is what she said to me. Unbelievable!

I have never experienced such rude staff in my entire life. The medical assistants are downright nasty and leave you feeling very unwelcome. They certainly don't appear to like children at all. Although the doctor herself has an ego the size of Texas(I'll explain further) I would still continue to take my child there, it is the assistants that downright anger me with their cold demeanor. The doctor herself is very old fashioned in my opinion and her techniques are not favorable and leave me lacking confidence in her. I certainly wouldn't trust her for anything other then treating minor things like colds, flu, or vaccines. She very well may be intelligent, I can't really decide because her ego gets in the way on making rational and professional decisions. I think a doctor should be attentive to parents and their wishes and open to other remedies. This doctor is none of the such. It is her way or NO way and don't question her because she is very offended and takes it very personal as an… insult. I think she has confidence issues in herself. This doctor gets clearly angry if you suggest anything other than what she recommends. Again, I think she a pretty good doctor on her own but her staff is just awful. I've moved on to a doctor with very impressive credentials and an amazing staff.
