Dr. Mario Perez Carcamo, MD

Horrible experience with Dr. Carcamo and his staff. I have a liver condition that requires I get monthly blood tests and have my level checked regularly. I have to keep them within a certain range to be able to take other medications that help me function in my everyday life. When my liver enzyme levels rose above range the Dr told me the situation could be serious and that he would see me on a monthly basis and review regular blood tests, as well as pulling me off my other medications. I expressed my concerns about how I would feel day to day and how this might affect my functioning at work and other aspects of my life - the Dr. said it will be a few months and it was no big deal. I waited for 4 months in total before deciding to seek another endocrinologist. I would attempt to come in for review of my blood test results but I would only be able to schedule an appointment for 5 months in advance, CALLING IN FEBRUARY AND BEING TOLD THERE WOULD BE AN OPENING IN JULY. The first time this… occurred it took me hours to get through to the Dr and express my concerns. I tried to communicate to the staff and others that the Dr. was supposed to see me on a regular basis to review my blood test results. Having to wait 5 months out could have been potentially life threatening and lead to other major health issues as my Dr. expressed to me in our last appointment. I was able to get through eventually but someone less persistent might not have. I thought the issue was resolved but when I tried to schedule an appointment for the following month I was told it would be another 4 - 5 months. I asked to speak with the Dr. again and was told to leave a voicemail. I just wanted to receive a call back regarding this matter but instead was treated to the same uncaring and annoyed attitude as before. This is my health. This is serious. This is not a fast food order that is wrong - this is how I have been consistently treated by Dr. Mario Carcamo's staff, regardless if Dr Mario has intended this or not. It has gotten to the point where I just get copies of the blood test results and review them myself. Sadly I will have to seek help somewhere else and I honestly wish I had started looking sooner. Dont trust this Dr. or his staff with your or your children's health. Just go somewhere else. I can also confirm the other comments saying wait times and scheduling mishaps are common.

The staff is under educated and you get the treatment of a government office. They open late, forget to turn on the phone lines, hang up on patients. You get authentic sense that they do not care and are treating everyone as a cattle or just another number to get out on time at the end of the day. My child went with out medication for 5 days because of the receptionist hang up the calls or not understanding the processes to transfer a call. Save yourself the headache and frustration and do not go to this dr.

This Dr. has been in our family for 22 yrs and we just love him from my sister to my kids he's attended to and very satisfied with his work and care,the wait is a little long but staff is really nice.

I was referred to Dr Carcamo from our primary care physician. We spent 2 hours in the lobby the first time. For years I came to Dr carcamo, who himself is a very nice person, however after we were recommended to Loma Linda University Pediatric Diabetes Team they were horrified by the amount of insulin he had me at, his methods were basically if your not in control, to simply increase the dosage, even at 21 years old now I am only at half what he was prescribing me.

Dr. Carcamo was both of my children's doctor from birth until about 2 years ago (approx. 7 years). Dr. Carcamo himself, is a great doctor, IF you actually get to see him. Wait times are ridiculous, especially if you specifically request Dr. Carcamo. Many times I was in the office for over 3 hours, start to finish, and our family was in the office a lot (up to once a week at one point). I finally got fed up with this office because my youngest had been on some type of medication to treat recurring symptons for most of his life (4 years). The cause for the symptons was never addressed.

Christina is part of Dr Carcamo's office staff. She is very bad at running the office and does not care about you or your child. She frequently submitted the wrong prescriptions for my son and when confronted about the issue, I was told I could always find another Doctor. Although I firmly believe Dr Carcamo doesn't know about these issues because he will not return our calls, I would definitely not trust my family in their care. This office regularly overbooks patients and the wait time can be anywhere between one to three hours. Christina is a very poor office manger and one day her mistakes are going to take a life.

My complaints are that the wait is always excessive. There are too many crying kids all over the place. The place a not very clean. Once you see Dr. Carcamo his is magnificent. Great bedside manner. Very caring. Knowledgeable and my daughter loves going to him.

I can't believe this doctor's office. I have been there three times, hoping that my experiences would be better but they only get worse. I have waited up to 2 hours in the waiting room (and never less than an hour). The office is disgustingly dirty and the staff is terrible. I've called to have them send me a referral to an eye specialist and after four tries (of them saying they would do it) I finally gave up. The doctor also called my daughter a boy (although she was clearly a girl in all pink and was wearing a bow). Did he even look at her chart??? WORST DOCTOR's EXPERIENCE EVER!!!

He has always tried to get me on formula ever since my daughter was born.I have to see a laction nurse to get the help i need. to this day my daughter has never had formula and is doing great! Dr. Carcamo cares abiut her but is very old fashioned about is practice. P.S. he has an old office so things need to be fixed and cleaned more often.

Dr. carcamo is a great doctor ! but the wait is almost an hour to be able to go in !the girls in the front office need manners !the rooms need work !!!
