Dr. Marit Bratli Sheffield, MD

Dr. Sheffield has been my Dr. for a few years now and I must say, I've never had a bad experience with her. Some visits were shorter than others, but, that's only because I didn't have anything additional to go over with her. This year was the first time my visit became more than just an annual exam with my GYN, and true to form, Dr. Sheffield took all the time I needed to go over my concerns, explain the tests she was having done and followed up with a phone call to review the results and advise me about the next steps. She truly is a Godsend for her patients.

Dr. Sheffield is the type of doctor who is extremely judgmental and critical towards her clients. She did not by any means, care about my concerns, or take me seriously as a human being. She belittled my questions, and based upon her mannerism, I felt as though she looked down upon me. Another highly disturbing factor is she continually is in a hurry to see the next patient. At my last annual exam, she literally spent about four minutes with me. This is absolutely deplorable, disgraceful, and immoral! For the last two years, she has conveyed to me that everything was normal. I knew everything was not normal! I went to a different OBGYN, and she diagnosed me as having a definite issue. This particular doctor was quite knowledgeable, and could not believe the diagnosis Dr. Sheffield devised. A doctor should be compassionate, accepting, caring, diligent, kind, receptive to patient concerns, insightful, intelligent, non-judgmental, and up to date on the latest medical research.… Unfortunately, NONE of these very imperative character traits describe Dr. Sheffield. I STRONGLY suggest that you seek another doctor! Dr. Sheffield is a disgrace to the medical profession and community! This doctor will be sued for malpractice in the near future!

I always have loved her and after watching her in the delivery room as i gave birth I have a whole new respect for her. you are an amazing dr.

Dr. Sheffield delivered both of my kids. She was always kind and caring at all my appointments and during the births. I would highly recommend her.

It is scary how rude and unknowledgeable Marit Sheffield is.

This doctor was on call when I went into labor...she came once to see me in triage and never checked me herself...several hours went by and she never came to see me. My baby was ready to be born and became distressed...a resident came to check me and was shocked by how far along I was but the baby was far too distressed to be able to push and ended up in c-section. I am convinced I could've just labored out on some field somewhere and had a better outcome. In another experience, she never bothered to answer her page and didn't send a resident or someone else to answer it for almost two hours...in my opinion, this doctor is either really bad at doing her job in the hospital when "on-call" or negligent.

Dr. Sheffield is the best OB/GYN doctor I have ever had. She listens and deosn't rush through procedures etc. We need more people like her in the medical profession!!

Dr. Sheffield is an absolute doll, I came to her when I first started being sexually active and she has helped keep me healthy and safe ever since. She always remembers everything about you, and is very caring and friendly. My only drawback is that it takes months to schedule an annual with her, because she books so far in advance.
