Dr. Mark G Agresti has the following 2 specialties
A psychiatrist is a doctor with specific training in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness.<br>He or she can not only provide the counseling necessary to both diagnose and treat a patient, but can also prescribe medication when needed. In some cases, a psychiatrist will only provide the medication and the counseling will be provided by another healthcare specialist, like a certified counselor or psychologist.
Like other doctors, psychiatrists employ diagnostic tools like CT scans and MRI in order to observe the structure and function of a patient's brain.
Once a diagnosis is made, these specialists may use behavior or cognitive therapy in order to address the patient's condition, or a multitude of other types of therapy, in conjunction with or in place of medication.
A neurologist is a physician who diagnoses and treats disorders of the nervous system which is comprised of the brain, spinal cord and nerves. These doctors do not perform surgery, but refer patients to neurological surgeons when they determine that surgical intervention is necessary.
Some of the conditions that neurologists diagnose and treat are epilepsy, aneurysms, hydrocephalus, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke, spinal disc herniation, and spinal disease.
In addition to using diagnostic tests like MRI, CT scans, EEG and EMG, neurologists also employ neurological testing to gauge muscle strength and movement, balance, reflexes, sensation, memory, speech, and other cognitive abilities.

Dr. Agresti is by far THE best psychiatrist I have ever worked with, and I have been navigating the complex psychiatry “scene” for almost a decade. He is generous with his time, he sincerely cares about the wellbeing of his patients and is serious about helping his patients meet their mental and physical health goals. He is kind, considerate, always non judgemental, and a gentle spirit. He even shows a genuine interest in my service dog, showing her love and attention during every visit, also caring about her wellbeing as well as mine. I cannot recommend Dr. Agresti highly enough if you happen to be struggling and in need of a doctor who has the medical talent to get to the bottom of your medical situation and challenges. I adore him and feel so blessed and grateful to call Dr. Agresti my doctor.

Dr Mark Agresti was my 3rd attempt at finding a new Psychiatrist. I was having trouble after I moved from NYC finding a good psychiatrist. In the months prior to finally finding Dr Agresti, my bipolar 2 disorder had worsened while under care from 2 other drs. .Dr Agresti first corrected my meds which stabilized my quickly deteriorating conditions. Then he replaced a drug which was working but had nasty side effects. Dr Agresti immediately corrected the medication changes of the other 2 drs which was all I hoped for. After 3 months of stability he switched me to a new medication. I’m now not just back to where I had hoped but better than I was when seeing my previous dr in NYC. I am so grateful and happy for finding Mark Agresti MD.

When I first went to Dr Agresti. I was very depressed and with my severe bipolar was totally unable to function. That was 20 years ago. I am still under his care and will always be . Dr Agresti helped me qualify for disability. Now with proper medication. That he has the knowledge on what to combine. I am functional. I basically owe my life to him
