No compassion or sympathy towards other kid’s feeling. Very cold & lacking empathy. Not worth the effort of an appointment. Find someone else.

Very rude, inconsiderate & not very trustworthy with advice.

Very rude, arrogant & condescending & egotistic with NO HEART. Avoid this doctor at all costs. Not worth the time & effort.

This is critical for everyone to know. I was referred to Mark by my physical therapist, back in 95-96 when I was in elementary school, & I’ve regretted it ever since. The last surgery I had was an osteotomy & I was mortified & very unhappy once I saw the x rays. I then asked him about optional hardware removal surgery, to which he gave a very rude & condescending answer. For nearly 20 years, I asked him multiple times about removal surgery with no answer & a very rude attitude in return. It ended with me having a long talk over the phone with his boss after I’d filed a complaint. Only after that point was he willing to comply & cooperate. He has NO RESPECT or SYMPATHY whatsoever for kid’s feelings & is continuously fueled by his ego. Do yourself & your kids the biggest favor of their life & find someone else. Let’s not forget you’ll likely be ripped off & shafted for a good majority of your appointment time. He’s had multiple profiles & ratings pulled, due to the fact in part because… he scored so poorly.

I was refered to Dr. Dales by my physical therapist I had back in the mid 90’s & I’ve regretted it ever since. The last surgery he performed on me was a femoral osteotomy in 1996 & I was mortified about it at 9 years old to say the least, once I saw the x rays. I then asked him an honest question about having the hardware surgically removed, & he wouldn’t even give me an honest answer, let alone an explanation. At that point, I lost all trust & respect toward him. The following 8 years, I’d asked him multiple times about hardware removal with no attempt at giving me an honest answet. I later researched & found there is an optional hardware removal surgery he could’ve been honest about & possibly done himself, but it never happened. Finally, in 2017 I had enough! I filed a complaint with Seattle Children’s hospital & I ended up talking to the director of orthopedics at Seattle Children’s hospital, explaining my ordeal that spanned nearly 2 decades! Dr Dales IS NOT honest or empathetic… with kids! Do yourself & your kids a favor & find someone else. I find it hard to believe that he’s the Chief of orthopedics at Seattle Children’s hospital.

MY DAUGHTER HAS SCOLIOSIS AND WAS REFERRED TO DR DALES, WE WAITED OVER HOUR, SPENT MAYBE 10 MINUTES WITH HIM (SCHEDULED FOR 45) HE GOT ALL MY DAUGHTERS RECORDS WRONG, HER AGE, DEGREE OF HER SCOLIOSIS ETC. AND WAS VERY CONFUSED, AND UNDECISIVE. I USUALLY DON'T COMPLAIN, OR WRITE REVIEWS, BUT THIS DR IS A CROC, PLEASE RECONSIDER HAVING HIM AS YOUR ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON.

Incredibly bright. Excellent surgeon. Wonderful bedside manner.

We had a great experience with Dr. Dales. He is personable, knowledgeable, listens to you and gives thoughtful consideration to all aspects of what the patient is dealing with and how to treat it. He won't suggest surgery unless it is truly needed. We had plenty of time to ask our questions in addition to the ample time he gave to the examination, diagnosis and plan of action.The only thing that I would change about our experience would be the staff. Dr. Dales is caring but the Staff is not. They are not personable or helpful IN THE LEAST! The only reason I put up with them is because Dr. Dales is a fine Doctor.
