Dr. Mark Robert Ferlan, DO

My visit with Dr Ferlan went extremely well. We discussed all of my issues, he checked all of my medications and my vitals, and I went away feeling good about my visit.

I moved to Dr Ferlan from Dartmouth Hitchcock because I felt I was not being seen as an individual but just a number there. Dr Ferlan has been wonderful so far. He seems like he really cares and gives you the time needed for a thorough appt. He does not rush you and he even asks, "is there anything else you would like to talk about". I think he is a keeper. My husband is moving over to him also.

I think he's a wonderful doctor is very goodlistens to what you say and I allways feel better after I see him he's the best doctor I ever had

Unfortunately after a few years the level of care really dropped off. He's a nice guy you could have a beer with. But checks ups, if you wanted to call them that lasted 10 minutes and could have been done over the phone. He simply sits at his desk and asks a few questions. The only time he gets up is to take my blood pressure which a nurse has already done moments earlier. Never really looks at you, checks your skin or eyes, ears, etc. I was hospitalized with a pretty serious illness and I was told by the hospital staff he was notified. He made no attempt to contact me or check in. Even though his office is one block away. Him and his staff made no secret that they hated my insurance. One secretary must have said it three times while checking me out till finally I said to her, "it's my insurance and that's what I can afford so please keep your opinions to yourself." As if I would change insurance companies because it's too much paperwork for the girls, UGH. I'm a beekeeper so I got… insurance that covered bee stings. I didn't need to seen by the Dr. Just a P.A. or nurse would do, a quick note to confirm it and my insurance company would be fine. They started to tell me they were too busy, go to the emergency room. When I'm standing in an empty lobby. Blood tests come back from the lab with weird numbers and he never calls because he never looked at them. I had to call it to his attention. There are other things I could mention but would run out of room. Finally I was starting to feel more like a vacation house payment than a patient. Sad, very sad.

Can't even call him and tell him if ur meds are working or not and his nurse is rude

Dr Ferlan takes his time explaining everything and making sure you get the chance to talk to him about any and everything you could ask. He gives straight forward answer and doesnt dance around with half answers. He tells you like it is and explains in detail. I am very happy to finally have a doctor who really cares.
