Dr Hazel and his staff were all wonderful

I tried to inform this pompas jerk of previous surgeries, he didn't have time and wouldn't listen. The best part of the appointment was when he referred me to a different doctor. Mark Hazel may be the best surgeon in all the world, I dont know and will not know, this jerk will never see me again!

The care I have experience with Dr. Hazel is exceptional. He takes the time to answer questions. He is candid about what results to expect. Being a senior it is usual, in my experience, to be patronized. That doesn't happen at this practice. Friendly, helpful staff. Very pleased and grateful. Thanks Doc!

You pay him. You pay for expensive tests. But you are not supposed to expect that he explain the results of a $2700 MRI ( my first ever) just a call from the admin forwarding you to pain management with no expectations of understanding your diagnosis. When I questioned him he stormed out of the exam room left the door open and me in the chair. I had to find my way out fighting back tears of shock. In 40 years of doctors and doctor visits I have never been treated so poorly. He did mention to me on no less than 4 times in the 20 minutes I was with him that he was an orthopedic surgeon. Just as an aside, this is the first time I have ever given a poor review to a doctor or any professional.

I am getting sick and tired of trying to call the drs office and the phones are not being done in the morning so I can press the button and get through to the office..this has happened over the course of a few weeks and my 4th attempt to try and get through..its really getting bad and not just his office either but several times..what is wrong with these people..fix your darn phones so we the patient can get through to our drs. To discuss appointments and other problems that may arise..what if we had an emergency not an ambulance emergency but other types..like needing med refills appt scheduling and so on so forth.the dr is great but the phone service is not..sick of it..

My wife had a broken ankle covered by workers comp that should’ve had surgery and without taking an X-ray, put it straight into a cast and didn’t even check other injuries. He told the physical therapist he thought she was lying about any other injuries.

Saw him for very painful shoulder, he has no sense of urgency and thought I was exaggerating my pain. I had a prior shoulder surgery and was fairly certain I had tore my pins. Finally was able to get MRI. Hazel said MRI showed tear and gave me two surgical options. I explained again my severe pain. He again minimized my pain and refused shot. Staff is very slow to return calls, paperwork is slow. I waited over a week for surgery date and finally called my previous Ortho surgeon 1.5 hours away. While on my way to see him, Hazel leaves vm that insurance died surgery so I should do 6 wks of rehab first!! Im in pain!!! My old Ortho had surgery approved and scheduled within 2 hours! A few days later I had surgery. 5 more anchors were put in my shoulder, The shoulder was jammed and pinched. Doc had to work on my bones and cartlidge to save my bicep. He said rehab would have made it worse and unrepairable. Can't believe I waisted 6 weeks in pain on Hazel and his unresponsive… staff!!!

Cocky. Very confident in initial diagnosis and ordered CT Scan. The scan did not show exactly what he thought and he had limited responses to my questions surrounding the root cause of the pain and the long term prognosis. Condescending in my opinion. "I perform over a thousand surgeries a year, I can do surgery on your knee tomorrow if that is what you want." I do not like cockiness in anyone that I interact with. He did not have a reasonable solution or explanation to the course of treatment in my opinion.

Dr. Hazel looked at a broken elbow that had been treated in Europe. I had been told there that I would require surgery when I returned to the States. Rather than immediately ordering surgery, Dr. Hazel re-set the elbow and did some close observation over a few weeks. He determined surgery was not, in fact, necessary. The arm healed well and with physical therapy, I have returned to being able to use it with no problems.
