Dr. Mark D Noar, MD

I have know Dr. Noar for many years and I was very upset that I was not notify when he stop seeing people. He done the Stretta Procedure on me and I have pain for about maybe 3 years . It has gotten worst in the last year. But when I call for appointment he was not there. Now I have to start over . I am very disappointed Now I have big problems.

He is the best GI I have met by far, and I am a primary care provider. He is incredibly knowledgable and is the world’s leader in the Stretta Procedure. I have flown from California twice to be under his care.

I was shocked to discover that Dr. Noar is on sabbatical or so I was told when I arrived at his office for a follow up appointment only to find the office was closed. I had not been notified that my appointment was cancelled. Luckily there was a young gentleman there who explained to me that the office was closed and he told me that Dr. Noar was on sabbatical and was not sure if he would be resuming his practice. He suggested finding another Gastroenterologist. He said he could fax my records to the new doctor once I found one and that he wasn’t instructed on what to do about prescription refills. Needless to say I was shocked. I have been a patient of Dr. Noar’s for over 20 years and he was currently treating me for several health conditions. Something just doesn’t seem right about this and he should have had the common decency to contact me and his other patients ( if he didn’t) to let us know about this. I would have given him an above average rating as I was mostly pleased… with my treatment. But in light of this situation I must admit I am very disappointed.

I have been going to Dr. Noar for many years, sometimes for routine tests and other times to get help with a physical ailment. Recently I had a procedure done that made me feel better within a very short time. After four months of feeling miserable, I was feeling back to normal within days. His staff is always friendly and helpful. I have recommended him to many friends.

Dr. Noar is extremely thorough. He leaves no stone unturned before rendering a diagnosis (if you’re having an issue that requires investigation). So if you’re anxious for a diagnosis be prepared to wait for him to “tick every box.” That’s what I like about him. I had several procedures that required anesthesia and I was happy to do it there (in his York Rd office) rather than the hospital. He has an impressive surgical suite equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment and highly trained nurses and assistants. It felt convenient for me, avoiding hsp wait times. His surgical suite is clean and comfortable. I always felt I was in good hands. Dr. Noar is friendly but may come off as aloof to some, I look beyond that, a good doctor is what I want.

Went to Dr. Noar, a referral from a friend that spoke very highly of him. However, I found that he was not as informative and helpful as my friend described. After waking up from the procedure he sat next to me and explained the many things that he found. Now mind you I had just woke up. He didn't call my relative in to help listen to all that he had to say. I was so confused. He threw a lot at me because of all the problems I was encountering. I followed his instructions as he suggested. Had an operation the following week. He was going out of town around the holidays so my follow up appointment, to formally go over all the problems that my previous tests showed, wasn't until several weeks later. I had so many questions but I found that Dr. Noar was not interested in elaborating on any of the results. When I would question him he made me feel as if I was asking something I shouldn't or that he was holding back from telling me. Did not make me feel comfortable about asking… questions. I left there not sure what was really going on. I had someone with me and they felt the same way I did. Now, maybe he wasn't having a good day? Or maybe I was trying to understand too much? But all I know is I walked out of there not really knowing any more than what I knew when I woke up from the procedure.

I traveled from China to see Dr. Noar to fix my reflux. His staff did a very good job to help me with the arrangements. Everything was very well explained to me and my family. He is good doctor and I am very much better now after this treatment. He calls me to make sure I am feeling better.

I recently was recommended to see the doctor by a family member. I had seen two other doctors who were unable to find out why I had chest pain....it was not my heart! He listened to me and after a few tests we realized my problem was reflux and a bad gallbladder. With the gallbladder gone I am now better and my reflux is under control. Not only did the doctor take lots of time with me, but his staff was awesome and even helped to fight the insurance company so I could get my medicine...this one is a keeper!

Had to wait over an hour to be seen by him.... and ended up waiting 2 hours. By the time he finally strolled in, he spent 6 minutes with me, talked over me and was rude. Don't go to him... his license with the medical board says he is on probation for poor patient care! Has a lawsuit with EEOC... horrible

I have seen most of the other GI docs in this area and my complaints have been ignored for years. Dr. Noar and his staff were kind and understanding. It took 7 days, but he confirmed I had a gallbladder problem with a special ultrasound on an endoscope after all other tests missed the problem. I was started on medication to dissolve the stones and after 4 weeks of treatment I am pain free!
